Beautiful stars tonight. The winter/spring ones always seem more vibrant to me since IIRC many of them are closer to us than the summer ones on average.

Not sure about distance... but one of the reasons the stars can seem more muted in the summer is more moisture in the atmosphere.

It always seems to look dormant in that view.   I bet Salem is greening up though.   Here is an open space across the road from us... a month ago this was all brown with last year's growth.   New growth is emerging now and its not dormant any longer.    Obviously perfectly normal for early March... if not a bit late.

He bought the property¬†in 1989¬†when there were just a few houses there and just mostly sagebrush. He would park his camper on the lot each summer until he built the house in the early 2000‚Äôs. There was a large orchard behind him back then but it‚Äôs no longer active. Now it‚Äôs wall to wall houses in that ‚Äúdevelopment‚Ä̬†¬†

Our meteogram model selection menu will group models by type and forecast duration, as in our main maps menu. Additionally, we've made the ordering consistent between the two.

Yeah winter over. Though next week should be a lot cooler. Looks pretty dry on the 18z, lots of 54/29 type days. Which are below average for early spring.

Winter ended.

Even if places got snow later this month, it would be spring snow. ;)
