snow_wizard 12198
Color me impressed with this cold front. Just an absolute classic. I think the 34 degrees with 55mph winds in Ellensburg sums it up pretty good. That cold with down sloping is ridiculous this time of year. Currently 38 here, but I see many places have slipped into the mid 30s already. 1 Quote Death To Warm Anomalies! snow_wizard 12198
The ECMWF drops a cold bomb on us in early April. A couple of days end up with a large minus departure. Seems like a pretty chilly climate up there for being on an island and only 2,400 ft in elevation. The forest on the summit plateau has a montane to subalpine look to it. I imagine being directly in the path of Fraser outflow has something to do with that, plus the island's northerly location overall.

No doubt the climate gets interesting real fast in the NW with even a little bit of altitude. I know we've discussed the Waterville Plateau in the past, and it is a great example.
