Well I haven't been around in a while. Been a little, erm, preoccupied. Hope everyone's enjoying the sunshine and warmth lately! I'll be in Arizona for the weekend, and hopeful I don't melt!

The gulf between how the media acts like people have been living and reality is vast. Like children wearing masks... I think 99% of parents stopped having their kids wear masks last summer/fall.

Lol yea I think there’s a big misconception by the media that everyone’s been hunkered down for the last year. I’m sure some people have been hiding out...but most people have just adjusted to the circumstances and went on with their lives despite what has been going on.

To an extent. I have definitely seen my friends a lot less and I mostly worked from home from the start of the pandemic until late February this year. But I did take a 16 state 6,000 mile road trip last summer and have flown to Oklahoma 4 times since October. What I find interesting is the people my age who hunkered down the most are new parents, apparently afraid their kids would get it, though as we know kids are impacted the least by the virus.

12Z EPS is still pretty dry overall for the next 15 days... and quite a bit drier for WA compared to the 00Z run and the 12Z run yesterday.

Seems like models are beginning to show the West in the default trough position beginning later next week... likely related to the MJO moving into phase 2 at that time.

The airmass feels a lot better today then the last few days. Last week (or was it the week whenever the big warmup happened) was picture perfect and felt like a Chamber of Commerce 80s promo ad to come to Oregon. The sky for over a week at that time wasn't once yucked out.

Did you remember your blackout curtains and keep the radio on to know when the all clear is given?

Make sure not to let a single peep of light escape or you may get the dreaded knock from the air warden. 1st time is a warning 2nd time you will be summoned to a court to explain to the judge and 3rd time will be a huge fine no questions asked and perhaps jail time for any further offense.

Don't let the air warden get angry and don't expose your house to the enemy!

Getting married tomorrow so that’s why I’ve not been around a ton of late. Looks like we are about 68F out there and are ready for some much-needed rainfall overnight.

Congrats buddy. 🍻

Radar says something is happening in the Calapooyas. It's headed northeastwards towards Eugene.

A warmer and drier than expected day to end a warmer and drier than expected month.

68/48 here, partly to mostly cloudy with a trace of rain so far. Although it looks like we might pick up a little more this evening, the good lord willing. Mostly cloudy and 64 currently.
