Up to 0.31” today after that shower. Suns fully out now and the ground is steamy. The sun inbetween these heavy shower bands should help make things interesting this afternoon.

What was the last July with a cool/troughy pattern? Seems the best we can hope for is the lack of a monster desert high.

2016? That was generally cooler than average regionally.

Power flickering. But still sunny and lovely other than the wind! I should go home and mow.

Hope it's not the power to your mind flickering.  :)  Finally we got 0.40 of rain down here mostly this morning.  Now we can enjoy Tim's green grass heaven.

A massive 0.05" for Springfield. So long rain, see y'all again in late Sept. If the city is destroyed then I guess it'll help put out the extent of the fires but the desolation will be unprecedented if we go HAM on 90F+ for 3+ months.

Some outages now. Including my neighbors looking at the zoomed in version. We are on different grids, apparently I’m the winner this time!

Looks like what was forecast to be a pretty good rain event up here won't amount to much. Morning guidance suggests maybe another 0.1-0.2" before the end of the day. Will probably end up with less than 1" of rain total on the month. Definitely breezy outside though currently with some gusts around 30 mph.

Just had to run down to Mt. Vernon to get some stuff from the Lowe's there, and the dust blowing off the fields was pretty bad right there north of the Cook Rd.  Going into it, it looks like it was reducing visibility to a very scary degree (crazy multicar pile up bad), but as I got into it, it was like a regular foggy day (with brownish/reddish fog).

Currently 61 here IMBY, and we have picked up .27" so far.

Nice random gusts today. Kind of a 2017 vibe in the way that there hasn't been a completely calm week here for seemingly a long time. Of course the moisture situation is a total 180* from that year.

Just tragic that it's not going to rain all of the holiday weekend.
