I’m going to Seattle next weekend and it looks like I’m going during a trough. Maybe I’ll finally get to see what Tim and Mossman are talking about.

A way drier than normal spring, just like Oregon has seen?

Yeah... drier than normal can still be wet and cold at times.

Looks like a great road trip.

Been very enjoyable! Never been to these parts so it’s like Christmas morning every day. Definitely coming back.  Storms seem to be in the Grand Canyon area but we could get lucky here.  If the storms hang out long enough should make for some nice sunset shots!

Yep. Definitely a couple nasty cooler days there in May-June 2015 and then in April 2016 of course. Even felt some vague similarities to springs 2008 and 2011.

Yep... some recording breaking cold air masses into the West.   That was similar... your trolling can't change that!

I immediately thought of this when I read that:

Followed up by a pretty fab January.

My preferences can beat up your preferences’ dad.

Not much in the snow dept but got cold down here. 4-straight sub-freezing highs in a dry blast. Ah sub-freezing highs...something that never happens anymore.

Just got done setting up a bunch of air quality and CO2 sensors around the house and some much needed lawn work done. Kind of surprising (all though it shouldnt be) that peat moss was all but sold out across the Puget Sound. Felt like a rich man spreading that black gold all over the grass.

We haven’t had peat moss at my work in awhile either. People bought it up early this year. Lots of regular black and gold soil though.

Latest euro and gfs runs look good for some juneuary type weather at times through the first 1/3 of the month.

Honestly still quite surprised to such a prolific western trough signal w/ forcing in the WPAC. Really says something about the in-situ background state. Any non-niña regime year and the west would be blowtorching thermonuclear.

We put in about 800sq of artificial turf last month on one side of the plantation.

78 here...gonna be close to getting to 80. If we avoid it it’ll be the first time since 2013 without an 80 degree reading in May.

I love how a chance at brushing 90 is morphing into three straight days in the 90s for PDX. Vile trash weather.

Complaining?   It's about as far above normal as it was below normal a few days ago up here.    It will be cold and crappy again soon.

Yeah I wasn't really expecting it. I know it can still be transported across the border, but it sounds like there was some serious early season demand nationwide. Ace Hardware was the last place that had it in NW Washington, with Lake Stevens store being the only one that had more than one bale.

To the Extinction Rebellion types, blah blah blah blah I know about the environmental costs, but until my HOA is cool with me getting rid of the lawn and replacing it with corn and clover, I have to salt the earth for the green.

It’s been a crazy year here in the garden center. People went and bought a lot of stuff in mid April during that heatwave and it’s been pretty busy since. Have sold tons and tons of tomatoes!

I don’t see any forecasts calling for 90 today.

.SYNOPSIS...Warm and dry weather will continue through Wednesday,
with inland valley temperatures peaking in the low to mid 90s on
Tuesday afternoon. Thursday through the weekend will feature more
seasonable temperatures. Rain chances will slowly increase towards
the end of the week, although amounts look to be minimal for most of
the area. 🤮😢

Just passed my drivers test. It was the final test of my drivers ed class which is a DMV-approved and scored test, so my certificate should come soon. We’ll see if I can get my license straight up with the certificate or if I still have to take the test at the DMV.

Nice, be careful driving out and about it’s very very serious. Something that took me awhile to realize when I was 16 and just starting out.

Well tomorrow is the start of the meteorological summer. Looking back on this spring...every month was below normal in rainfall. 50% of normal in March, 35% of normal in April and 80% of normal in May.
In terms of temperatures march was -1.2 degrees, April was +2.6 degrees and May was -0.3 degrees.

March was the only below normal temp month here and the first month to be below normal since...March, 2020.

All 3 spring months drier than normal here. Like usual.
