Scott26
I know parts of the US were cold again in February, but meanwhile on the rest of the planet..... The combined average temperature over global land and ocean surfaces for February 2015 was the second highest for February in the 136-year period of record, at 0.82°C (1.48°F), above the 20th century average of 12.1°C (53.9°F). The warmest February occurred in 1998, which was 0.86°C (1.55°F) above average. Nine of the past 12 months have been either warmest or second warmest on record for their respective months (March and July 2014 were each fourth warmest, while November was seventh warmest. From: http://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/sotc/global/2015/2 Ha ha some on here will cringe at this. I am sure the data is made up.... Wink winkYeah it's made up. Tom
So you think the Illinois-Wisconsin border will get 10" like that map is showing? 2 feet for the UP?After the Clipper snows that produced 10"+ totals in WI/MN and the coming Lake Effect snows in the UP, both of us were wrong about believing this model's projection last week. Another wintry system hits the UP for Easter weekend that dumps more snow. Would not be surprised to see 2'+ totals up there. http://www.crh.noaa.gov/images/fxc/mqt/wx/File.png Oh ya, and I won't be surprised if I seen stories of Easter weekend snows around Chicago while I'm out here soaking up the sun rays. Not sure if it will hit 26F but if it stays in the upper 20's with no snow cover, that's a pretty darn intense cold shot. James, here is the 12z Euro snow map...I do think if the storm is as strong as it showed this run, thenit can generate more cold air associated with it.
