Troll.

Everyone in the PNW is going to be cold for the next few days.    Side note... Monday will basically dry and Tuesday and Wednesday will probably be mostly dry.

I won't be cold, still shorts weather!!

I’m sure you realize how many people across the country would love that type of weather right now? Especially those in drought stricken areas. You’re being given a gift bro.

Shut up.    Do you realize many people would not like that type of weather in the summer?  😄

We don't have any water issues here... dumping rain on my area and leaving the rest of the West dry is not really helping anyone.

I wonder how many people in the plains complained about rain during the dust bowl?

The West is going through its own mini dust bowl right now. Maybe your backyard is doing okay, but that’s a blessing.

I don't understand this line of thinking. So because some place in Nevada, or the SE, or Death Valley is running dry, we are supposed to be thankful for rain even though in this particular area we aren't experiencing a horrible, 100-year drought? As if us being thankful will make it rain in other places?

Just doesn't make logical sense to me. Although probably boils down to you just trying to push Tim's buttons.

Next 7-10 days look pretty juneuary like still. Maybe Phil’s troughy pattern in late June early July is showing up now instead?

Yeah... its just non-stop troughing and chilly weather for the foreseeable future on the 12Z GFS.

I am totally happy with rain in the summer if its nice in between... but waiting through 2 weeks of colder than normal weather and clouds in the summer is depressing.   And it happens almost every June.    And after 2 weeks of troughing and cold weather we might get to the real troughing and cold weather!  😀

Matt might have been right... we were due unfortunately.

One thing the euro has the gfs doesn’t is a good soaking rain in the far south OR/Northern CA areas in the latter part of the run. Would be very beneficial.

We will see, either way at this time of year we will probably still sneak in some nice weather days in the midst of a troughy pattern. Doubt we will be totally juneuary like the entirety of the month into early July. This is a pattern im happy about but I can understand you and others not being as excited about it.

It would be one thing if the gfs was on its own page but the euro does look pretty similar. Really good down in southern OR/northern CA.

The EPS has been extending the troughing and cold weather as well... so I expected the GFS to eventually come around.

Loving the 12z GFS.  A lot of cold troughing and not too gloomy.

Totally off topic but really cool. Back in January my son begged me to lend him money to invest into a company.  I did lend him some cash and he invested it into dogecoin lol. He made a small fortune!!! I don't like to loan money but for a 23 year old man to want to invest and not blow the money was impressive.

I have over 500 doge lol. Hopefully it gets to $1 as I bought in at $0.40. I'll just throw profits into sportsbooks over time. It's kinda fun & I'm enjoying holding onto the coin I have.

It has nothing to do with you.    And these doomsday scenarios about entire cities being obliterated is just silly.    San Diego and LA and Sacramento never get any rain and I am sure those cities will still be there next year.

Those cities are way bigger than Springfield lol terrible comparison. And they are far more accustomed to this than we are and would be if Jasper or Pisgah blow up, there would be no stopping it in Springfield. Maybe Eugene because it's more spread out. But Springfield would be lost in that scenario.

Yeah... no.

But if this is long term climate change then its the new reality whether we like it or not.

Regardless... I am not going to wish for cold rain here all summer.   Life is far too short for that.

Since we’re talking about major destruction of a city due to fires. The anniversary is coming up! And back in 1889, Seattle weren’t a big metropolis like it is today, what actually happened was Seattle rebuilt and is bigger and stronger.

https://content.lib.washington.edu/extras/seattle-fire.html

I think the doomsday scenarios may be a bit overblown but the concerns are real.

That was a fire that started in a wood building and spread through city blocks comprised of other wood buildings with no real way for the people to fight the fire.

Euros still looking good for a nice soaking west of the cascades in Washington AND Oregon. Early in the run it seems like south of Salem won’t get much but later in the run the whole willamette valley does well. Last photo is only through Hour 216.

I remember just a few days ago it seemed like many places in OR weren’t going to get any rain through the first 1/2 of June but that’s starting to seem like it’s not the case. Still lots of time for the later part of the run to change...but some rain is coming down there in the next few days as well beforehand.

This is just silly. I can guarantee you that none of the sun lovers up here want to trade sun in order to watch your city burn. Talk about hyperbole to the extreme.

I can feel your worry and anxiety about the situation down there through the screen. I'm sure it's not a pleasant thought to have out of control wildfires that could threaten your livelihood. No one wants that, sun lovers or not. But don't lay that at our feet as if we are causing it. Not really fair.

It would be nice to see most of that rain the EURO is showing. Not good already seeing brush fires pop up here and there earlier in the week.

Managed to get down to 50 here last night. House finally cooled off to a comfortable range for sleeping. Now just hitting 60*.

Running through the surface maps on the 12Z ECMWF... one aspect that is nice about the upcoming pattern is that it does not favor being socked with the low clouds with the trough being mostly offshore.   There are no days with solid low clouds in the entire run.   Sunday is probably the closest it gets.

Exactly.    A couple people on here think we have an issue with any rain at all... but my issue is more with the extended periods of cold and gloom that we can get locked into during the warm season up here.
