Good news for western WA is that there is onshore flow next weekend under that ridge on the 12Z ECMWF which keeps temps just in the very warm category as opposed to scorching hot.

July 2007 was blisteringly hot. August 2007 was far more temperate. July is going to be a hot month.

July 2007 was more of an interior west heat month. There was a brief heatwave west of the Cascades, but in the Willamette Valley we would be rejoicing if we had a month as cool as July 2007.

I do feel like we're in a 2007 like pattern but running about 2 weeks ahead of schedule.

Hopefully that means that we'll see start to see things breakdown by the second half of this month.

I would be good with a July like 2007. I was working outside doing landscaping that summer. Other than that heatwave when Salem hit 103 it was not bad. Much more enjoyable than the summers I worked outside in Oklahoma.

I remember a wet and humid spell in the middle of July 2007 up here... almost an inch of rain and measurable rain on 8 out of 10 days.      That would help right now.

Does anyone know approx. dates of our typical first termination dust sightings here in the PNW?

I am guessing this is not tracked but maybe some of you have an idea of a date range?

Yeah near average summers these days are shockingly enjoyable.

Ground here is totally primed to ignite. The weeds are shriveling. It's hard to imagine this summer not ending in tragedy.

I say give it a little bit more time, still trying to lock into a solution. Pretty soon we'll be looking at near 100 again this side of the mountains.

100°-103° seems reasonable.

We went through K-Falls last week. My wife says it hasn't changed one bit since she moved to Eugene in 2001.

87 right now. A lot more temperate compared to June 28 when at this moment I was 1-2 degrees from 100.

That's the airport. It's always cooler. The Valley is different. Downtown and the Valley are 1800-2000 feet. The airport is around 2400 feet. The Northside and South Hill are around the same elevation as the airport. In general the Valley is around 2-4 degrees warmer than KGEG.
