That was incredible!!! I was working the Tacoma Costco location when the F-15s went over.   Sonic booms rattled the building like and earthquake.  That memory is drilled in my mind forever!!!  I’ve enjoyed some crazy events working that Costco being on the final approach.

We were sitting on our deck and the plane came down the Narrows. I said that’s pretty weird. My wife said maybe it’s hijacked. I said that’s ridiculous. Guess we know who the brains of the operations is around here.

I remember seeing it as well once over in Ollala out by gig harbor in my aunts backyard.

New GFS is UGLY

Care to explain why?

Also some sad news and probably still under-counted.  At least 34 deaths in Western Washington due to the heat wave. Article

I will be curious to see how many the heat claimed in the entire PNW when we get a better idea on the numbers.

We drove through there last week, I always thought that canyon was so beautiful. I guess it is still beautiful in its own, but very different way. It will be interesting to watch the forest come back. Already seeing alder shoots coming up. My wife made me turn around and go back to Mtn. High Grocery in Detroit so we could stimulate the local economy. Sad to see The Cedars gone too, my brother and I ate many a meal there after hiking up to Jefferson Park or Marion Lake. At least Marion Lake hasn't burned yet. The B&B fire got into the Marion Lake basin and touched part of the lake in 2003, and the Lionshead Fire stayed just north. Of course with the stupid permit system they've instituted I will only be heading up to Marion Lake in the off season now.

I grew up in the area and my grandpa and I had many meals at the Cedars. I always sat in the same booth. My other grandpa painted many of the saw blades that were on the walls.

When my brother in law passed unexpectedly several years ago, the family had a dinner there after the service.

I am sorry that it will never be there in the future but am thankful that I got to share the experience with my daughters before last September.

So refreshing to see a stadium full of fans at the Mariners game tonight. Can't wait for the Hawks to play for the 12s again!

On another note, beautiful evening in Silverdale.

I just bought tickets for July 26 game vs the Astros. Honestly can’t wait to be at the park again.

And they just won in the bottom of the 10th!

I watched the ending and it was really nice to see the stadium so full again on a beautiful summer night in Seattle.

There is now only one GFS.  What was the "new" GFS when it was being tweaked to take over for the then current GFS became the official GFS and the old one was discontinued.

So the current GFS is what was the GFSv16?

The new extra innings rules are pretty cool. I love it. That way we won’t ever see an 18 innings game again.

Was a 2% milk kind of day on the east side of the mountains. But that made for a good show. Plus rattlesnake on the back patio trying to keep warm! Bonus

Ehhhh... feels wrong to me.    And technically a game could still go to 18 innings.   😀

Sunset was colorful tonight! Too bad it has to be derived from smoke elsewhere. Highest temp I saw was about 78°. Little humid, but not too bad.

Yes… but the chances of that happening is slim imo. Pitchers pitch completely different when there are RISPs and especially when you put a RISP with no outs.

Anyways, it looks good to see the park with lots of fans again and tonight is perfect weather for a baseball game

The first pic it almost looks like it was an F/A-18, but with this pic that is almost certainly an F-15, and I would put money on that other being a P-51.  Its quite possible its might be Val-halla

It used to be based in Bellingham, now based down in Skagit.  They are certified to do the heritage flights, probably knocking the rust off after a year of no airshows.

https://heritageflight.org/aircraft/p-51-mustang/

I have a picture sitting in the cockpit, my bother-in-law did professional military aviation photography, so he used to do the airshows as well as photo shoots of red flag exercises.  He got to know all the military and civilian airshow pilots, got us up close to an F-22 (could not look in the cockpit though).

Edit:  Just found the N number and flight track, and it was Val-Halla:

That is definitely an F-15 Eagle and a beautiful P-51 mustang with an unmistakable Allison prop.

The Manfred innings suck IMO. I loved marathon games. Now it just feels like an NHL shootout.

New rule takes the fun out of extra innings opportunities.

It definitely does but I can also see why it’s in place. Baseball games are long enough as it is already, fans attending the game rarely stay behind for a marathon. I like the new rules but I’d still prefer that things remained unchanged.

Subsurface warm ENSO anomalies have been on an eroding trend since early May, more or less, particularly in the eastern TPAC.

Not positively aware I have, but reasonably sure I have. Rattlesnakes quite often just lay low, do nothing, and hope to avoid notice. And they are well-camouflaged, so it typically works. It may be unsettling to realize you have been within a few feet of a rattlesnake multiple times, but if you regularly hike in snake country, odds are you probably have.

It's called clown range for a reason.
