Our climate is changing and we’re living it. Hate to see it but I wouldn’t be surprise if we see more 100s in the future, if not again this summer.

It’s definitely possible but I just think it’s pretty unlikely. Obviously nobody really knows for sure but I’d bet on lots of mid 80s and lower 90s. Even that isn’t the greatest news right now.

Low of 53, currently 78 and breezy.
My crusty old outboard needed a new impeller so I started the job this morning in lovely cool sunshine, by the time I was done I was quite saturated with sweat. But it’s done and pumping water again. Next test will be taking it to the lake and seeing if I cooked the engine getting it back to the dock in Eastern Wa a few weeks ago after my overheat alarm started blaring.

Looks like Salem has scored their first 90 of the month. They are going to be on pace to blow away July 2015 by the middle of the month.

I do live in a cool little microclimate…but d*mn today was only the 11th +80 high of the year. 81 currently. Really wouldn’t be surprising to see you guys get close to or exceed 40 unless some major unforeseen cool late July and august magically appears.

Let’s hope so. Tree and vegetation damage is already evident here…with no rain coming and potentially another heatwave it could be another big blow. Even a few low to mid 90s could be bad.

Down at the ferry!   Those are fall looking leaves under those trees :(

Yeah I’ve started to notice more and more some of the trees have a slight fall coloring on them. Maybe it’s about to start getting kold. In all seriousness though not a good sign.

I have a feeling this is going to be a historic summer with lots of heat and little moisture. Not good. Like I said before, I would love to see mid 70’s to mid 80’s with one good good shot of rain every week, and one big but short heatwave. Even for me last week was too much though  (Though the inner weather geek was fascinated by the extreme numbers) I’m just thankful that my trees all look good… for now…

The PNW (and New England) are the places to be tomorrow.

77°F degrees is as close to 4th of July perfection as is physically possible.

The 12Z GFS is worst case scenario starting next weekend.   It brings back offshore flow and ridiculous heat again.  I sure hope it's up to its usually tricks of over-amplifying in the mid and long range.

How in the hell is it possible to see this in the models again?

The shot with rainier in the background is awesome.

Are you seeing Orcas down there in the mornings?  I saw a few of your pics but didn’t expect it was a recurring thing.

Awesome photos! And yes as t-town asked when have the whales been usually showing up? Sounds like you’ve been getting pretty lucky and seen them a few times.

83/56 today. Looking forward to watching some jets fly over overhead at work again tomorrow. Going to be a beautiful comfortable day tomorrow too. Has been super loud and super awesome the last couple days with the air shows I missed it so much last year…they didn’t do all the jets and stuff last year so glad it’s on this year!
