snow_wizard
I'll take one order of the 6z GFS. Really nice run! Let's see if we can pull out an August that might be to most people's liking. As for July...we were doing ok until the very end of the month. No doubt this summer hasn't worked out like I thought it would. It's truly remarkable that both July and August have failed to have average below normal over the past 10 years for many stations. 3 1 Quote Death To Warm Anomalies! I'll make a firm prediction of an exceptional cold trough sometime in the August through October range. You are welcome to dig up this post as a reminder if I'm wrong. The cold shoe will drop in late Oct around my birthday, which will bring our coldest temps of the fall-winter. Omegaraptor
In central OR the fire danger was extreme at the beginning of the month when I was there. From just after Santiam Pass the fire danger signs were pretty serious about no fireworks, no campfires, etc. Didn’t hear a single firework on the Fourth of July and left just before the Bootleg Fire exploded. There was convective activity on a lot of days down south towards Klamath Falls and CA (which started the Bootleg Fire) but only one day had it making it up to Sunriver, and it was a few thunderless showers by the time it got there.
Timmy Supercell
Hoping it's as stormy as Aug 6-10 2017. Every other day was a decently strong storm in the area. 1" hail and flooded streets hit Altamont on the 8th. Two days later was a good couple hours long soaking in downtown KF and a nice shelf cloud went through right before. We always get a lot of folks here do fireworks thru 1am 7/4-5. About a week after it's usually just 1 high person doing a loud one at some random time of night and sirens follow (lol). I haven't heard one in a couple weeks so it seems like some people are aware things can easily just light on fire this year. Will be in Spokane to Coeur d’Alene on Fri-Sun, and driving home Monday.
