Even a normal August would be amazing. A below average one, a true gift from God.

SEA won’t unfortunately. It’s about average right now and the next couple days will most likely end the month with a positive departure.

I don’t think he was talking about this month being below average…just that it “might” next month and that we’ve been lacking them recently. Next month is still waaay to early to call the first 1/3 could potentially be below normal but that’s not even set in stone yet.

Looks great.  Second year Ninas are usually good for us here.  I must say this summer has really surprised me so far though.  I thought it might be really dry, but I thought more influence of the Pacific High would mitigate the heat.

A very interesting note is SEA hasn't had an August even come close to averaging below normal in a decade.  Would be a pretty big deal if it were to happen this year.  We'll see.

Let’s try this again. Deleted my previous response because I thought you said a below average July. At any rate, we’ll see how August will play out. But for July, SEA will unfortunately end up with a positive departure because the next couple days looks warm.

I think I'm lucky to have not seen a record territory August in quite some time in K-Falls. 1967, 1958 and 1998 are currently the top 3 warmest, I might have seen a top 10 since moving here but July and June are the ones setting newer records.

We always get a lot of folks here do fireworks thru 1am 7/4-5. About a week after it's usually just 1 high person doing a loud one at some random time of night and sirens follow (lol). I haven't heard one in a couple weeks so it seems like some people are aware things can easily just light on fire this year.

Or perhaps a crappy economy has them pinching their pennies as fireworks are a VERY expensive hobby to get into and aware of the depleting materials required.  Nahhhhh that couldn't be it.

And just like that…we get to 90F!!! Rain stopped. Running 3-4F colder than the airport so a good illustration of how that's a poor representation of most of the metro area and south WV.

Ah, warmer and drier than normal every single month since Sept of 2020, with the exception of March, which was cooler and drier than normal. Will be interesting to see what our coldest temp of the fall-winter will be.

I'll guess 26F on Oct 29.

We have had 1 cooler than normal month since March of 2020...this past March.
