I saw that... I just drove out to a spot along our road where I can see all the way to Snoqualmie Pass and did not see any smoke yet.

Look like SEA may have hit 90 right before 3pm but will have to wait for official words. Believe this this the 4th of the summer.

Even if it did not hit 90 yet... it certainly will.

I don’t know about y’all but for me, it’s so weird that after the stupid heat last month 90F actually don’t feel that bad. It’s still hot! But that D**n heatwave really have a long lasting impression. Usually a 90F would be highly uncomfortable.

Pretty amazing to see so many spots (outliers, as they’re called) pushing the century mark with 850mb temps around 21c.

What mechanism is causing surface temps to overachieve so much? There's not much of a compressional element with this one. Low soil moisture plus very warm overnight lows?

I guess we’ll see how many spots make it to 100, if any, but I’d suspect it’s kind of a perfect blend of the dry ground, southerly mid level flow and the warm start. Just one of those funky outliers in an otherwise chilly summer overall.

This wasn't their first one. Some of us that don't normally get 100's a lot are getting several in one summer.

Pretty astounding that anyone was comparing this to 2015.

The last few days of a month define the entire month, that's what I always say.

Bit different in western WA, of course. Not all reduxes work out the same everywhere!

It was opposite in 2015, June by itself decided a record hottest summer. That July was cooler than 2014, and August even cooler than said year.

A month that is mostly not hot, then sees a few hot says shouldn't make it a hot one.
