With any luck it’ll be one of the last. Time to get some rain going.

Hit 95F here today.  If not for that little June event this year, today would have been the hottest day here since at least 2014, possibly since the July 2009 heat wave.

Today was surprisingly toasty… at least 5˚F warmer than I expected.

It's called clown range for a reason.

For once, the greatest temperature departures from normal seem to have been in more northerly areas today.

Southern BC has actually been notably warmer than Bellingham area this summer. Especially this month.

Weird year?

A forum for the end of the world.

Glad we avoided 90 today…still going to end up with 4 +85 days in a row to finish July but could be worse. Haven’t had a 90+ day at my location in July since 2015. Came close on several days in late July 2018.

Depends on location. Low valleys in the BC interior have long been toasty in the summer.

Even a place like Abbotsford is typically warmer than us on summer afternoons. We get many more sea breezes than they do.

Abbotsford will probably end up around +3.4F for the month

ECMWF is upgrading their world-leading weather forecast model in October 2021. Many improvements. Accurate model performance during extreme events is critical to providing actionable info. June 24, 2021: 5-day forecast for Portland from new model version:  117°F  ✓

This was anticipated when they announced last October that many of the current ECMWF data and charts will become public for free. You gotta know an upgraded version is on the way.  If this is an indication on how accurate the parallel version is, subscribing to it will be worth it when it becomes available this fall.

Yup, let's hope it'll be perfected by the time we get to Nov as that's when I feel it's best to start paying for a WB subscription for a few months if one has the coin. I use sports betting winnings and it's been fun so far, even missing out on winter events, I still love following it all.
