79 here... and only 70 at SEA.

It takes a perfect balance for it to be warmer out here than at SEA pretty much every day for a month straight.    The normal high here in the summer is about the same as SEA so it's really unusual for it to be this consistently warmer out here.

Looks like SEA, OLM, and BLI all underperformed relative to forecast today. BLI didn't even make it out of the 60s.

Lots of overperforming temps down in the state you don’t consider part of the region, though. PDX hit 83, most forecasts had them around 80.

We have been very lucky over here.  The Pacific high has maintained enough influence to keep us pretty cool overall.  Even Kittitas County has benefitted greatly from the relentless onshore flow.  Going to be cooler for everyone tomorrow.

It should be cooler tomorrow. The haze has thinned significantly. Not looking too bad.

Went with my sons to Lake Sammamish this evening so we could get the boat off the trailer and do some repairs to the trailer.    Surprisingly busy at the launch for a Wednesday.    Lots of families out enjoying a spectacular summer evening.    Water is crazy warm too.    We also put a new prop on the boat and took it for a spin... it was vibrating before at higher speeds but now it runs smooth as silk.  :)

All set now for the lake on Sunday with daughter and her friends.

So stupid.

We don't control the weather.    Should we sit in a fetal position and not enjoy perfect summer weather?  🤔

Just touched 80 here. Clouds held on until noon or so. Hoping for a more expansive/stubborn marine layer tomorrow.

80 here as well. My 5th day in a row between 80 and 83. Looks like a 2 day vacation to the 70s and then maybe back to 80-83 territory for a bit more.

Why? You didn’t keep your humidity to yourself last month.

Touché. Though if we’re being technical, your humidity didn’t come from here. But our smoke is coming from your fires. ;)

Our fires?   We don't have any major fires in western WA.    Do you want to claim Manitoba and Ontario?  That is your major problem.

I've got all this stuff saved. Last year I was filling folders with red skies, now it's satellite plumes.

Yeah we should all be hiding in our basements until it rains again because that will solve our dry spell. DO NOT GO OUT AND ENJOY THE SUN AND WARMTH, YOU WILL SPOOK THE SOAKING TROUGHS!!!

The shoving match between the Pacific High and the slightly north placed 4CH is incredible on recent model runs.  The consensus seems to be the Pacific High will eventually win and shove the 4CH eastward and torch the middle of the country.  A lot of 1950s analogs have been showing up the last few days, and those summers roasted the mid section big time.  Going to be interesting to see what really happens.  At any rate no runs have shown any major heat for us over the next 15 days.

Some places are really tanking this evening.  Persistent onshore flow and cold SSTs.  Good chance we will see a lot of 40s over the next few days as the 850s drop.

Actually seeing a couple of upper 40s on the Mesonet already.  Crisp for this time of year.

Plum dandy GFS run in the 10 to 15 day period.  Unseasonable deep trough and sharp GOA block.

That has never been mentioned as a 1950s analog ever!   It's like it never happened.    Our climate is stuck in 1949-56 forever.

Did southern OR bake in the 1950's? There's not many summer records from that decade.

93/48 today. Now the next stat to look for is to see if I get 35-40 days over 90 for the year.
