Interesting radar loop showing Lake Effect rain showers in NE IL on May 31st...unreal!

Outside temp 51F, indoor temp 61F...thank goodness the cold phase of the LRC is on its way out!  Feels more like late October around here, esp near the lake.  Skies are beginning to clear and hopefully I'll be able to see some sunshine.

These NNE winds have cooled the waters of Lake Michigan by up welling the colder waters below...pretty substantial cooling over the last 48 hours...

Yeah tell me about those cooler waters. Only 54° today.

You can see that little dip below normal from this weekend's winds.

 

Mercer Island, 350 ft

2021-2022: 11.6", 02/21

2020-2021: 15.6"

2019-2020: ~10"

2018-2019 winter snowfall total: 29.5"

2017-2018: 9.0", 2016-2017: 14.0"

Month was a bit wetter than normal and +0.90° above normal. That early morning high on Saturday added a good 0.3° to the departure. Had 4 80° days, which isn't too bad for May around here, lol.
