Longtimer SilverFallsAndrew Posted August 11, 2021 Author Longtimer Report Share Posted August 11, 2021 Here is a quick rundown on the active fires burning west of the Cascade Crest in Oregon. From south to north. Devil's Knob Complex 4,651 acres 5% contained Skyline Ridge Complex 3,087 acres 23% contained Rough Patch Complex 4,765 acres 3% contained Middle Fork Complex 5,097 acres 2% contained Knoll Fire 400 acres 0% contained Bull of the Woods Complex 666 (!) acres 0% contained Only one really active fire east of the Cascades in Oregon right now, way way out there south of Prairie City. Black Butte Fire 14, 521 acres 5% contained. Devil's Knob Complex, Rough Patch, and Middle Fork Complex have the potential to make some real serious noise in coming days. Given it's remote location I would guess the Black Butte Fire will end up burning some serious acreage though a lot of it is sagebrush and shrub. Hope that person is doing alright. This time of the year can be quite brutal with the fires.

But if you want to get all statistical, the rain gauge for me is at .35 for the past 24hrs. I know I am not Paine Field, but the precipitation is different even in just short distances from each other. The downtown station had .47 inches. Paine Field is a poor location for Everett to keep tabs, as most of the city is sea level and on the water. Paine field is the highest point in the city and far from the majority of the city.
