Very chilly already here to start of September! 48 here at 2am…might get down to 46 or 45 by sunrise will easily be the coldest morning since early June. Wish it would’ve happened a day earlier could’ve set some monthly records.

Some of the colder locations are in the low to mid 40s already. Will have to look at my weather records when I get home to see how chilly this mornings low is compared to other early September mornings over the years.
Down to 47 here now as of 2:10am. Already the coldest low in 10 weeks!

It's currently 39F. WOW!

June was a 4.5F beat on average, July a 1.5F beat, and August a bit less than 1F beat. Let's not do that again.

There’s a few upper 30s showing up…52 here warmed up 5 degrees in an hour after the DP went up a bit.

Always amazes me how cold it can get in some locations in central Oregon even this time of year…upper 20s in a few spots. Will have to pack really warm when I’m camping over there in a couple weeks. Will be in areas that favor getting cold.

Down to 45 here. Should have a few more degrees to go before the low, so on track for the coldest morning since May. Nice start to fall.

Pretty dramatic turnaround on the overnight models in the mid to long range. Almost seems too good to be true.

Bizarre temp shifts overnight. Down to 47 at 2am…52 at 4am and now 46 as of 10 minutes ago. There was no wind or clouds last night so it’s interesting.

A couple low 20s this morning in central Oregon. I know that it’s not incredibly unusual to get cold like this over there but still pretty cool to see.

00Z ECMWF took away the rain for the weekend and the 06Z GFS trended strongly in that direction after the wet 00Z run.    It will be interesting to see what the 12Z runs show.   As it looks now... the next week could be partly to mostly sunny and pleasantly warm.

OLM hit at least 38.

That would tie the record yesterday, but not 9/1: it's a crazy 32 from 1973.

I think OLM got down to 37F prior to the 7am obs. What a chilly morning for them.

SEA got down to 48F and 46F for me… both easily coldest since early June.

Wish it would’ve been yesterday! would’ve bested my previous august record low of 47 by 2 degrees but oh well. Same kind of thing happened back in the beginning of October 2019…hit 41 on 9/30 but then it was 36 on 10/1. Would’ve been pretty cool to have a record low of 36 here in September.

Looks like they may have hit 37.  Also seeing a 37 at one station in Battle Ground, a 37 in Enumclaw, and 39 in Arlington.  Also seeing a 33 at a place called Timber Junction near Veronia.  Just saw 35 in Veronia itself.  Nice!

Dropped to 42 here BTW.

Strange comment.   I was posting all day yesterday... and posted this morning.   You are the one who disappears when things don't go the way you want... not me.

And what change?   The holiday weekend looks warmer and drier.   Do you think I am cheering for hot weather and east wind?   🤨

It appears Mount Rainier freshened up over the last several days. I like it’s new white coat.

12Z GFS continued the drier trend over the weekend... barely shows any rain now for the Seattle area or even out here.

Temps look really nice too... around 80 on Saturday then upper 70s on Sunday and back into the low 80s on Labor Day.     Unfortunately that means temps into the low 90s in western Oregon.

I haven't felt like posting as much lately. The weather has been pretty boring overall and there is nothing to complain about, which is great. 66/46 yesterday, amazingly pleasant, and actually chilly in the evening.

Drier for the end of next week too. In fact, just plain dry. Who could have seen that coming?
