No. I honestly believe this Halloween is gonna be reminiscent of that of many Halloweens during the 90s. Freezing your a$$ off while trailing the trick or treating kids in the distance. Hot and late summers are indicative of cooler than average falls. You know this.

Fwiw, if SEA manages to pick more than 0.05” of rain from the system tonight, it’ll be the most single day rainfall total we’ll have since Jun 13!

Same here! Wettest day is 0.04” on 8/26. Even if the storms don’t pan out we should get a little rain. Anything helps.

Spokane is the same way. The airport, downtown, and the valley will get socked in by fog and low clouds, but the Northside, South Hill, and other higher elevation regions will be enjoying sun breaks.

I can attest to this. It is actually annoying as hell. Working in Spokane proper and then commuting home only to discover that I missed out on the blue skies and frigid temps really pissed me off. I used to love the snow. After having nearly perished in a car crash due to heavy snow, I now only look forward to and and enjoy frigid temps and sun during winter. The snow scares the out of me.

Seriously

That's definitely true for me, at least. Though sometimes it gets too toxic and I have to take a week away. As is life.

Over/under 1 week for him?

Late October is now when the south Willamette Valley sees it's coldest temps. Then nothing after that.

In the short term… chance of tstorms after midnight.

Speaking of t-storms, this year has seen a crazy divergence from climo, nationally.

“Tornado Alley” shifted into the SE/Mid-Atlantic this year. Just an insane pattern since June.

Kind of ot. I knew there’d been a lot of extreme wx thus far in 2021, but I didn’t think it was this anomalous.

Definitely one of the most interesting years I can remember.

Would be by far the dullest year weatherwise here in a long time, aside from our moderately historic winter storm and our supremely historic heat event. Really. Essentially zero other really dynamic storms, fronts, or airmasses otherwise. And literally zero convection whatsoever. Just the worst. Definitely unique though.

Thus for here, it was the dullest past year weatherwise.

Makes no sense why we are lumped in with Portland. Eugene should have its own separate NWS office.

Then you’re due for some action. 💪

The crazy 4CH/western ridging this summer definitely put our severe season on steroids. Shortwaves which usually track into Canada instead rode the periphery of the western ridge and dove south into Appalachia. Reminiscent of 2014.

Not taking any side. This isn’t about me. Randy clearly overreacted.  It’ll blow over, just like the parade of unusually-strong early fall fronts coming soon!

That was +ENSO-like, though. West-Pacific dominated that entire winter, which triggered the super-niño in 2015.

Even though I hate his weather preferences (at least from April to October) and am peeved about him trivializing wildfires, I wouldn't want to see Randy gone for good.

There is the problem... why would you hate someone else's preferences?   That is so pointless.   This is not politics where people's opinions matter.

Maybe you just hate what nature is doing.  But its all nature.

03z initialized.

This one was moving way too fast to see, so going with the frame by frame from the 03z, it looks like couple hours of rain here. First reaching South sound around 2am and to central sound by 3am. Then  it's just outta here.

Still looking at anywhere between 0.05" to 0.1" for most places.

I find weatherbell easier to navigate esp on mobile.

WxModels has more maps but I don’t use the majority of them.

A highly polarized world we live in these days.

I think we'd all like to see a different sort of polarization this winter...frontloaded, of course.

Hating on someone's preferences actually ends up being a problem about you more than it is about them. Which in the end, should probably give zero fvcks about... which is Randy needs to be back now.
