The 18z GFS gets pretty real.  Sub 540 thicknesses late in the run with 850s dropping below zero.

Looking good!

This is a much better run for OR and up/down the coast, for the early next week system.  Much more widespread, very much along the line of the 12z Euro.

To note: The GFS have been kinda stingy for that particular area.

Good riddance, fire season!

I'm sure it'll warm up and dry again some time in October but in the mean time I'm loving these models runs for the next two weeks.

I'm guessing the Euro will remain quite wet for the next 10 days on its run tonight.

Won’t matter for fire season purposes. Days will be too short, and sun angles too indirect, for much drying.

It's called clown range for a reason.

Yup. I pretty much put this year's fire season to bed after the last soaking.

The chance of also getting 80s weather are rare.

Of course it's not a solid thing yet. Mid-November is really when winter begins to knock on the door anyways.

Of course not! That's why it's clowny! 🤡

However, I wouldn't mind an early winter/snow season this year. :)

This is the first post in 7 hours on this forum. I guess normal Fall weather isn't as exciting as heat waves and arctic outbreaks.

Nice to have several days in a row on observations read "CLR".

Low of 36 and already close to 60.

I've already hit 30 once a couple days ago!

Oh, nice! hopefully we start to get mid 40 temps next week.

I'm going to enjoy the next 4-5 days, because the warm and sunny door slams shut next week. We'll probably have to wait until next April or May before we see 80 degrees again. We have less than 12 hours of daylight starting on September 25th. We'll have to wait until St Patrick's day next year before we see 12 hours of daylight again.

Just a gorgeous day here in Newport. Stuck in meetings, but I can see the ocean out the window.
