I remember that. He wasn't Phil back then. He was weather or wsj4000 or something like that. I wish the Western Weather Forums archives were still available. I knew it was bs, because nobody lives up at Stampede pass. Phil is alright though. He's become a valuable contributor on this board.

La Palma is on Day 17 of nonstop lava gushing. Some of it is looking and sounding a bit more on the explosive side of things.

The rooster on one of the live streams isn't calling. Hopefully still sleeping ;)

In E. WA, we're supposed to get a pretty dramatic drop from tomorrow to Wed. Both in our daily high and daily low.

Also do any of you use snow stakes for your snowboards? This is the year I want to start measuring snow.

Yes, I remember now.😁 Hard to believe it's been that long ago. I remember getting into an argument with Jesse prior to the winter of 2009-10. I told him we probably wouldn't get much snow because of the strong west based el niño. He didn't like that very much.😆😂 I know you did really well that year.⛄

I bet moving to Kentucky will tighten a few screws for Winter in the northwest! I still want to be a member here but perhaps limit my postings so I don't make it too irrelevant.

You can still post. Kayla still does, and she's in Bozeman. I'm sure you'll probably do well when we don't and vice versa

It was fun that the lightning delayed the Chargers, aka team with a lightning bolt. Their stadium is kind of like (Safeco) with exposure to outdoors though having a roof.

That trough at the end of the of the 0z GFS is just a tad anomalous.  If memory serves that is kind of like the one that brought the craziness in March 1951.  Just a beast.

If the 0z GFS is correct a top 10% cold October looks very possible indeed.

Here is one of our furballs enjoying the sun.  We got this guy and his sister for my kids, but now that my son is off to college, he has pretty much adopted me...

We ended up with a 61/48 for the day, this was one of the few sunny periods of the day and he took full advantage of it.

If we get a warm November after a cold Niña October, you bet your a** I'll be excited as hell. Historically that's about as surefire as it gets for an arctic blast in December or January. Hell, the connection between mild Novembers and cold winters is one of the most strongly paired seasonal correlations this region has. It's sort of like a barometer for the rest of the winter.

Yeah that trough just swallows Vancouver Island whole... Can barely make it out on the map because it's shaded so deep blue. Sucks that it's at 354hrs but fun to think about anyways.
