Total bust here. About 10 minutes of gusty conditions and a 2 minute downpour. Overall, quite a calm day. Took in the Portland Japanese Garden this morning without so much as a breeze or a drop of rain. Absolutely gorgeous there. Past peak though.

But what about the Daffodils and cherry blossoms?

The NWS did name a storm several years ago before it came ashore, at least in their AFD. It completely busted so I'm pretty sure they learned their lesson. It was the "Ides of October" storm that never happened.

Lol that thing was predicted to be a Columbus Day tier storm. Still gusted to 50ish at PDX so it wasn’t a total bust, but definitely overhyped

That's the key discrepancy I think-- it was NEVER forecast to be anything close to the Columbus Day Storm. Maybe to Hanukkah Eve or 12/12/1995, but NWS Portland was forecasting 60-70 mph gusts in the Valley, with a reasonable expectation for gusts close to a hundred on the coast. Only similarity it had with CDS was its genesis as the resurrection of some typhoon remnants.

Squall line impacted Springfield for a few moments. Was just rain and no wind. Aside from that, it’s been very boring.

2016 is one of the La Nina years that CA had a significant AR event.  I like where this is pointing.
