I think they haven't quite updated the forecast yet because they're unsure of how exactly the charged particles that emerged from the sun and that cause the aurora borealis are directed. Currently it looks like the CME (Coronal Mass Ejection) might miss Earth to the south, but they're still getting data in from the satellites. We'll probably have a better handle on it later today/tomorrow when they'll update the forecasts.

Had a white knuckle drive up to port Townsend…about to hop on the ferry…drive to anacortes and hopefully get on the ferry to orcas island tonight. Back up plan is to stay at deception pass and try again in the morning but I’m pretty sure I’ll make it. Just can’t miss out on the opportunity to get some nice weather up on orcas island on Halloween.

Have fun home dogg.

I’m prepared to wait awhile I know the risks lol. I don’t have any commitments the next couple days after I’m planning on leaving Monday so if I need to stay longer and wait I will. I’ll have a great time either way!
EDIT: just realized you meant have a good time not “have fun getting home” lol

Wow it is absolutely dumping on 405 around the Kirkland area with tons of ponding water on the roadways. I had my windshield wipers on EXTREME mode and I could still barely see. Sketchy.

Looks like we are only up to 0.15 back in Maple Valley. Wife said it's hardly been raining there while both Everett and Bellevue have been steady rain for most of the day.

0.40” back home in Tacoma right now. It’s pouring up here in port Townsend. The drive up here was sketchy too.

About to go over 1” back at home. Raining pretty decently here in anacortes I think I’ll be able to make the 6:30 ferry out to the island. God I hope I can catch the Aurora up there this weekend. Will be looking out for it!

Idk that AR we had back in December 2019 was pretty heavy. We got clobbered that time in Tacoma.

More than 10/20/2003?     Seems like it was about 5 times as heavy that day.  😀

1.18 in the bucket here…..had to go out during the worst of it.  Streets were flooded everywhere with backed up drains.  One puddle water was up to the base of my doors and no way to go around as it was the whole street!   One car did loose power in it and tow truck had to fetch them.  Rain rate down to .04 now.
