Not really a fan of sour candy. Nougat, however, is proof that God loves us.

We usually get around 120 kids.  Seemed busier this year. We ran out of candy early.

We’ve had 5-6 trick or treaters in the 11 years we’ve been here, although a couple of them might have just been attempted residential burglaries.

Our old place was in a massive hot zone where we’d almost always run out.  We’d end up giving out boxes of Kraft Macaroni and Cheese or whatever was laying around.  It SNOWED within WEEKS of a few of those 10/31’s…

Aren’t you in the Proctor area?  That’s kind of surprising.

You would think so but usually I don’t see any kids out and about. When I was growing up my mom had a house on 22nd and proctor behind the Safeway and we would go trick or treating and there was lots of other kids. Not so much in recent years from what I recall.

Virus fears seem as bad as last year, surprisingly. A few houses literally roped off their driveways with “no Halloween because of covid” signs.

My parents live in a very covid believing community and they had a lot(!)  maybe 60-70 kids after having maybe 7 last year. We had 24 this year and had about 30 last yr in my rural town. Got a bit cold at the end but we bundled up with double layers for son and mittens  as well as a santa hat for myself. A clear night with no rain or win so it was manageable.

It is indeed increasing overnight. What pressure gradient would be best for your area?

I actually don't know... so much of it comes down to angle of the flow here.   I think its different down there since you are right next to a large funnel.

Much more palatable GFS run through day 10. Some mountain snow, fairly mild in the lowlands with onshore flow, but it will feel like late fall once we get towards the end of the work week.

The GFS actually looks pretty impressive for the 5 to 10 period with constantly below normal 850s and fairly active it would appear.

It's really hard to explain why you're having such a hard time getting cold nights there.  There's no reason you shouldn't have your first freeze by now, but it sounds like you haven't.

Looking at the surface obs the max temps appear consistently well below normal from day 4 or 5 onward.  Mins get colder during week two as well.

I am much closer to you and there has not been an official freeze here either... and we still have roses blooming.    My wife did pull up the dahlias today though since she wanted to take advantage of the nice weather.

Huge ridge later in the GFS run.  Wouldn't be shocking in a Nina November.  Good chance it would bring a huge inversion though.

I raise you the zero trick-r-treaters I've had the past 11 years and the zero attempted burglaries.  My neighborhood is so boring.
