hoping we don’t lose power… lights flickered few times already. We’ve experienced worst without losing power but a lot of the trees still have leaves in tact that probably doesn’t help. It’s not that bad out, 30mph gusts.

Lots of flickers here too!   Heading out the door now 😀

Surprised to see the NWS increase the wind gust forecast for OLM this morning. We'll see if it verifies. There's likely to be a pretty significant amount of power outages around here if we get gusts to 50.  PSE is already reporting 17,000+ without power as of 0840.

Moderate rain falling now. My brother lives on the S. Oregon coast and he said it's just 10-20 mph winds right now.

Power went out for about 5 seconds here around 4:30am, been blinking at times since. Only a little breezy however. It’s like the power grid is quaking in its boots over what is offshore and is as scared as one of my Border Collies gets when the low battery chirp happens in the smoke detectors…But in reality there is nothing to worry about. No mega massive windstorm, and no smoke detector eating my dog alive.

Well it’s the first time we’ve actually had some decent wind this season so even a garden variety event tends to cause some problems.

That’s inexcusable. Even rural Gulf coast cities ravaged by Cat4 hurricane Ida had less downtime than that.

Looking at the GFS we will probably end up with about 8.5" this month. Above average, but less than October 2016 and 2012.

The strongest gust I've had so far is 25.  With the center further north now I think the east wind potential for the foothills has maxed out, except for maybe North Bend.

Lol was awoken by what sounded like branches clanging together about 30 minutes ago probably 75 feet from my tent…was scared sh*tless since I had no idea what the sounds were. Came out of my tent with a knife ready to get in my car since I wasn’t sure if it was a person doing it and I point my my flashlight and see these big a** bucks beating on eachother with their antlers. Makes sense now! So I scolded them and they ran off lmao.

Camping in the rain kind of sucks. We camped at Mt. Adams a few years ago when my daughter had just turned one. Rained the entire weekend, lightning hit a tree nearby so that was kind of cool, and we saw a bear. More recently we camped a couple weeks ago in 38 degree rain in the Bighorn Mountains in Wyoming. Ugh...

We’ve got a root cellar on my family’s property that stays dry and somewhat warm since it’s into the side of a hill…got a wood stove inside too so there’s atleast somewhere to shelter if it gets too sh*tty.
