I mean, just depends on what model you're looking at I guess?

edit: clarifying - doesn't look as dramatic an uptick to +ENSO status by summer in CFS. Still only a 20% chance or so.

Yeah, it's hard to tell. We'll know for sure by spring or summer next year.

I like the ECMWF at day 10 a lot better than the GFS.  Another trough right on top of us at that time.

Speaking of the ECMWF it shows strong potential for freezing low temps in the outlying areas next Monday night.  At the very least widespread frost.

The ECMWF meteograms are every bit as cold as any of its earlier runs BTW.

This summer was amazing for severe weather here. That big western ridge sent shortwaves crashing right into Appalachia, sparking storms almost daily (and legit severe outbreaks multiple times per week).

Heck we’ve had two thunderstorm days in the last week despite sitting under a ridge. Some years never quit.

Heard parts of Alabama got totally flooded last night. Probably Tennessee as well. Those storms trained over the same areas.

A little dribbling going on outside and 41 degrees. Winter is here.
.01” on the day, .66” for the month.

Sunny start to the day here... after being pounded with rain the last 2 days.

Looks sunny up in Bellingham too... so you should see some sun today.

Yeah, definitely getting some sun.  Its currently filtered through a layer of thin high clouds.  That's a new camera shot, I like it.  I wonder what building it is on....I think it is too far north to be on the Herald building.

Dropped to 43 overnight, currently 44, and we got some drizzle or light rain overnight totaling up to .03"

It's not gonna rain for another while, so will be boring mostly clear weather.

Dropped to 37 here, good for our coldest morning since 5/10.

Satellite looks good for sunny skies this afternoon for the Hawks game. Might have a few high clouds passing overhead by then but should still be a beautiful October day in Seattle to pull out a W over our division rivals!

Most of the game will be after it gets dark... but should be a perfect evening.

I know Phil was calling for an expanded 4 corners high this summer but I don't think any of us thought that it would envelop half of North America. Sheesh

Cue the Sierra's flamin' hot cheetos red. CA is never gonna get out of it.

Lackluster 12z runs today. Not a fan to be honest.

When youve been riding in the saddle for as long as Rob has, you just know when something aint right with a model run. Todays 12z is a bit different for us. Also it helps that goofus is basically monkey/dartboard after day 7

12z GFS today (left) vs 12z GFS yesterday (right) - thru day 7

Couldn't tell if you meant 02-03 or just lived in the wrong place, right Winter!

Some of the snow event happened down here but never got below zero. Impressive in Spokane considering the elevation.

Coldest day was 24/2.

I meant 02-03, had to look back at data but yes, thank you and others for the correction
