Final storm chasing report. Back home now… though it was raining quite heavily from home to burien and then to Kent…. It wasn’t anything I would’ve wanted. Didn’t encounter any strong winds or hail. So sad…. We missed out @RentonHillTC

But on a better note. It’s D**n chilly out there.

56/42 for the temps, currently 44.  Kinda crazy to come on here tonight and see all the rain down south today.  Brilliant sunny day for most of the day up here, perfect weather for a soccer game and to play outside with this little fluffball that joined our family this weekend.  She is quite adventurous, and absolutely loves to be outside.  She spent a good chunk of her time outside attacking leaves then carrying them around like trophies.  I can't wait to get her out in the snow.

I actually got snowed on up at the mine near Liberty today.  It's just shy of 4000 feet and it was colder than a brass monkey's arse up there!

Currently 43 with clearing skies.  Apparently it was really wet here today while I was gone.  Can't wait to see how cold tomorrow night gets.

We’re down to 44 but with a slight breeze out there the wind chill is in effect. Feels like 39! Brrr. Don’t think we’ll clear out enough to drop the temps more than this. Coldest night so far still from a few nights ago at 41F.

Replace November with another random month which occurs later in the year and you’re bang on!

This cold snap continues to impress me pretty much every step of the way.  Ended up with a 56/40 for Sunday and we had some showers falling with temps in the low 40s.  The 40 degree low is better than I had any reason to hope for.

An interesting wrinkle with the possible ridge situation beginning around day 8 is it now has a decent chance of being an inversion situation as per the latest ECMWF.  It appears a nice cold shot will hit us just before the ridge sets up so the low level cool air will become trapped.

Long range GFS has been trending wetter. Next week looks like a good time to finish up any of those lingering outdoor projects.

43 out this morning here in the swamp and it feels damp and nasty.

It was mentioned above but if you have any outdoor plants, veggie gardens or planters that need to be taken care of, do it soon.  It's about to get real wet for a while.  Well, at least until the next run of models come out.

This is quite an impressive airmass. With the low of 39 this morning, we were in the record lows territory. Tonight should produce some record lows for many places.

SEA is also running an impressive streak right now for the 1st half of Oct.  yesterday was 7 straight days of highs in the 50s and 8 out of 11. All of Oct is at or below normal for the lows.

This streak looks to keep going at least for the next week. Going to be a cold month.

Had quite a bit of clearing early this morning and ended up with a low of 36.  Currently 38 with fog curling around the house.  Looking for a first real freeze by this time tomorrow.

Just now, AlTahoe said:

7:00am it was 45F and dead calm. 30 minutes later it was 32F and a full on blizzard with a lake effect snow band sitting right over us. Very dynamic little cold front.

How much snow do you have (or think) you may have at this moment? Can't wait to see your snow photos. A friend moved to Reno last month and took a photo at 7am with a few flakes, nothing sticking then 45 mins later the ground was pretty well covered.

Oh man!! Look like we completely missed out on this fun… we had initially planned for the Tahoe trip this week but canceled due to the smoke/fire down there over the summer. Would’ve been fun to experience this. Believe you mentioned something to this effect when I was messaging you.
