It’s raining in November? No way. We average about .20’’ a day over the course of the month. Much more than that where some of you live. It looks pretty average to me precipitation-wise through the first half of the month when you account for the model over-optimism.

I will bet that we will end up under the Euro ensemble 10th percentile for rainfall at PDX from today through November 15th. That amount is 3.39’’. Mean is 4.92’’. Any takers?

It was sunny for hours, and as soon as the sun goes down clouds and wind out of nowhere.

At least Aurora has had multiple appearances!

Yeah I was glad to get a very faint glimpse of it in Tacoma in early October. I definitely want to travel up to Alaska or Canada to get a much higher probability of viewing it rather than once every couple of year marginal opportunities here.
Anyways we’re up to 0.34” in Tacoma I think we may go over 1” on the month before midnight possibly.

Looks like some really low snow levels coming up in the Friday through Tuesday period at least.  It's pretty intriguing to see such an incredibly active pattern with well below normal temps this time of year.

I'm betting on quite wet.  This coming pattern is quite anomalous.

That pattern showing up around day 9 just reeks of a cold wave in our future.  Looks like we go from cold and wet to warmer with a real chance of a major firehose.

Yup.  The Kp got to 7.  Why couldn't that happen the other day?

0.16” so far. Almost 1/2” on the month, which is below average. We need a little over 1/3” of rain a day to keep up.

What are the chances the other person sees them? Personally I miss the intimate encounters section, so fun stuff for sale on there... I guess the reason it got shut down. 🤪🤗

I hope it goes smoothly, enjoy the free healthcare!

Not perfect, but not badly.

And the health care here is not free; taxes (which are higher than in the USA) pay for it. (I still think it’s a better system than the USA has, but it is not free.) And one doesn’t get on MSP just by moving up here; there is a three-month waiting period during which I must buy private insurance (at CAD$ 140/mo, mind you, so even for those of us who fall through the cracks, it beats Obamacare). Followups should probably go to an off-topic thread.

On and off downpours for the last few hours and it looks like about a half inch of rain at EUG. Satellite has gone out a few times. This storm seems to be packing a bigger punch than the minimal discussion about it on here would suggest. Perhaps we'll actually get some legit wind gusts tomorrow.

Beautiful sky up in Alaska currently even if we're missing out on it. Looks like Kp might be around 8 currently so it would probably really be putting on a show with clear skies.

https://allsky.gi.alaska.edu/

Here it's quite wet although I might be entering the rain shadow soon. After rain most of the day I'm at 0.44" at 1.2" on the month. GFS continues to do poorly up here on rainfall amounts after we got significantly more than forecast both yesterday and today.
