Not really all that exciting. Getting to about 60F in mid-November is pretty boring.

Looks like a run of 50/40 type days coming up for 5 or 6 days... then it will probably jump back up to near 60 with some type of AR event by the middle of next week.

Not at all... but it might be less blocky.     For example... the 1998-2001 Nina period was during the ascent of solar cycle 23.   Not sure if there is even a connection between solar activity and the jet stream... but the jet does seem to be more active during high solar periods.    I prefer low solar.

I'm really hoping for a cooler and drier Nina.

All this rain and AR has me feeling down.

Maybe December will be out month?

Yeah... it would be nice if we are getting the perpetual rain part of the cold season out of the way now.     Or maybe it will stay active and wet all winter.

Feel free to push the jet down this way. The computer models have fallen back into the default mode of the last 2 years. Which is to show big storms and take them away as we get closer.  2 days ago the Sierra was forecast for 5" of rain and 36" of snow. Then each run has gotten drier.  Now it shows almost nothing for next week. Vanishing storms on the GFS and Euro are getting old. I thought we had turned a corner with the big AR event.

Ownership of this house was officially exchanged yesterday, but noticed the original for sale by owner listing just popped back up, that needs to get taken off (lol). That'd be funny if we get new calls from locals asking if the deal didn't go through. We're leaving tomorrow I think.

That projection is well below most modern cycles. 20th century sun spot maximums averaged around 200 sunspots.

Definitely... its more like the solar cycles in the first half of the 20th century.    That also seemed to be a more blocky period overall with many great winters.

0.27” now today. Have gotten about 20% of our monthly total in these first 3 1/2 days of November now. Think we’re going to be above normal rainfall again this month.
