Artificial intelligence is scary.  If you start reading about it and watching videos you'll know what I'm talking about.  Kinda like the story line on the terminator movie.  It could actually happen now and back then it was just Science fantasy.

Color me skeptical of the AI takeover stuff.

Human intelligence and artificial intelligence are very different things. I don’t think the doomsayers fully comprehend that.

I'm loving the recent analogs.  Years like 1955, 1956, 1970, 1990, 1995, 1996, etc.  No doubt this is a pretty good looking regime.

I kind of like the changing of the clocks.  Probably just because that's the way its always been.  I think the biggest reason at our latitude is so the kids aren't going to school in pitch dark during the winter.

Our sunset is before 4pm in early December. Abolish standard time.

Boring EURO run unless you like a lot of rain and mountain snow, which is better than ______ fill in the blank.

It does break the right way for the mid month cold snap.  I really like the position of the strong surface high at the end.  That would bring some brisk north winds and chilly temps if you roll it forward 12 hours or so.

I think the mornings would be unbearable on this side of the mountains.  On gloomy days it would be nearly dark at 9am.

Its not really any different with the time change and would not be unbearable.   Its often quite dark anyways at 9 a.m. when its gloomy in the winter.

I agree. The way the hill is here, we don't get direct sunlight until around 10am from now until the end of January, even on a sunny day. It is what it is.

Yeah... daylight is short no matter what we do with the clock.    If we didn't change the time then it would be light until 5:30 during the depth of winter.     Its a trade off... but I think I would prefer the longer daylight in the evening which is what WA voted to do pending the rest of the western states and BC agreeing.

I think they're waiting for the federal gov to sign off on it at this point. I read a really interesting article recently that goes into how much of a mess it is trying to get this passed. I really hope they get it done soon, i think it would really make winter here a lot better personally. No fun having the sun down at 4:15.

I think the darkness in the morning for school kids is a big argument for having standard time in the winter.  I also happen to like it just the way it is.

Our sunrise would be after 9am from mid December through mid January if we stayed in Daylight Saving Time year-around. Today's sunrise of 8:11am was bad enough.

I'm up at 6-6:30am everyday and I think I would lose my mind if the sun didn't come up for another 2.5-3 hours!

I like both the time changes and what they mean for each season. I like the extra light in the Spring, Summer with renewed warmth, and I like it becoming darker sooner in the Fall and early Winter signaling the Holiday season and hopefully Cold and SNOW!!!! I don't want either changed and it was never an issue before. No one I know cared that much about it growing up not until the complainers on social media to be honest.

SEA had a gust of 32mph this morning. Pretty amazing because it felt like it’s gusted at least 30mph everyday there for the past 2 weeks.

Obviously this isn’t true but it’s been quite common. Fall weather!

They have had a lot of windy days.  The peak so far being 49 from that storm a week or so back.  I'm sure they have gone over 30 on well over half the days in the past couple of weeks.

It would be a bummer when people's Christmas lights are up.  It would be an hour later before the lights really show up.

If it were up to me we’d have one more clock adjustment next year and spring forward 12 hours. Then we’d all REALLY have something to gripe about.

If it were up to me everyone would be put in a hyperbaric sleep chambers and sleep from fall to spring. Never miss out on more daylight!

At this point all of the long range models / ensembles favor a cold January this winter.  In fact show it being the most likely month to be colder than normal.  Could it be?  I still think December has a great chance as well.
