That rain/snow ratio in the Oregon Cascades is pitiful lol

Good time to remember that a warm/boring November is a good sign

This map is just another example in real time of what snow pack researchers are talking about. Plenty of rain, but it just drains right off...

My wife said it was sunny at home, but it's cloudy down here in Salem.

We’ve picked up 12.48” of rain this autumn…we’ve already surpassed the last 3 falls at this point. I think it’s pretty likely we surpass 2017 soon but we will have to pick up another 7” of rain this month to get up to the 2016 total of 19.39”…which is the wettest fall I’ve recorded. Still the wettest fall in several years here. If some of these model runs verify it could surpass 2016 but I’m sure those totals will come back down a bit.

We’re also still yet to get below 35 so far…and only 3 lows in the 30s so far this season. Totally fine with me since most of the time in the last 15 years that’s actually been a good sign waiting to get cold anomalies later on in late fall/early winter.

Yeah... still have not had a freeze here this fall and nothing in sight.     Roses still blooming.    They lasted until December 4th back in 2016.

I think a lot of places got down to freezing already but not here just yet. Our 3 best winters in the last 15 years were late too so I don’t think it’s a bad sign at all. Of course my location doesn’t represent the whole region but overall I think that’s a good sign for later on.

3 days of heat... weeks of rain.   That is not a fair trade off.   😀

But the reality is that November rain doesn't help much if we have another hot and dry summer.

Great song, November rain. Saw it live 4 years ago. Always impressive to see a rock legend like axle rose play a piano like he can.

Yep, same thing here as well. No freeze and the lowest we have hit is about 35 degrees.

Not that weird at this spot, but it’s starting to get late.

It was more than 3 day's of heat Tim lol. Felt like 200 days to me. 😊

Well it wasn't.   The first half of June was unusually wet and chilly and then July and August were close to normal in the Seattle area.    I think this might be more related to you preferring drizzle and clouds and temps below 65 all summer which is not really climo here.  😀

Yeah... the grass has stopped growing here too.    I really need to do one more mowing... its pretty long and there are lots of leaves and branches in the yard now.

I love a sunny 75 degree day here. Perfect.  That 100 plus stuff is just to much.  From a weather standpoint it was absolutely fascinating though.

I think anything over 90 is too much.   Those 3 or 4 days in late June were just stupid.

Yep me too. I was blowing leaves around and got mad it was taking so long so I went and bought the most powerful back pack blower from stihl and that thing will move a 3 pound rock! What was taking 20 minutes with old blower takes 5 now haha.

Yeah and then we didn’t hit the freezing mark until December 6th in 2016 and 2018. Both wound up being pretty solid.

I realize it does not work this way... but if you take out the last 2 weeks of June the rest of the summer was very close to normal in Seattle.     So 83% of the summer (10 out of 12 weeks) averaged close to normal.     The last 2 weeks of June skewed the entire season to the warm side up here.   I realize it was different down south.

We’ve had just 1 freeze here back on Oct 12 and it was for like 30 mins and haven’t come close since.

Final mow for the yard…hopefully. Was very interesting to have a yellow jacket buzzing around…

I hit freezing back on October 12th, but haven't been below 36 since.
Most of the trees around here dropped their leaves very rapidly, which in a way is a blessing for clean-up at least.

Our yard is a bit of a mud pit right now. 18” of rain since mid September. About 6” above average for that span.
