Still quite a bit of rain to come on the Euro until Tuesday 4AM. This includes what's already fallen since 4pm today.

Over 3" for Seattle. Almost 5" for Everett.

This map is the 4 day rainfall total from now through Monday at 10 p.m. which eliminates the rain that has fallen in the last 6 hours and includes the events on Saturday night and on Monday.

Rain with a positive height anomaly

As I mentioned a couple weeks ago... that kind of ridging usually results in our wettest weather at this time of year.    Its ugly.

Soooo pretty dang close to what @Cloud said?

Yes... he mentioned that it included rain that has already fallen so that map takes that out of the equation.

Whaaaat?  Why so hot at this time of night?  How is that possible in the PNW? 😮

Are you not familiar with AR events?    That is how it works.

Pretty sure we can't trust the Euro snow maps anymore.

I wouldn't say that.    It usually does quite well with c-zone snow.   Terrain bleeding is not really an issue with c-zones.

AR?  Atmospheric river?

I've never had it that hot at night past like September. ;D We'd be lucky to have that as a daytime high once mid-September hits.

Even Bellingham can jump into the 60s at night in the winter when an AR is north of there.     And its not really 'hot'.   😀

It's very typical around here. I do consider this to be on a cooler side... the ones that actually keep pumping in from Hawaii can stay in the 60s for 24-48 hours.

I lived 4 years in Bham.  I never had that happen in the winter. 😄  I just remember it was always windy and rainy.  I always told people it rained all the time there, then whenever they came to visit, it was always sunny and beautiful.  So no one ever believed me. 😛

I used to live in Bellingham.  It was common to see 60s during an AR event no matter what time of day.

Huh.  I guess I never remembered those when I lived there.  I remember summers and spring got surprisingly hot.

Many people up here are really tired of the rain... and would gladly trade.

You probably did have it happen but you weren't aware of it.  These events happened just about every year (I lived there for 30 years). I have seen 70 degrees during an AR once or twice.  Even got to 79 in November of 2001, which ended up being a fairly snowy winter.

Nothing weird about it think of where the air is coming from:  close to Hawaii.  This is why it is sometimes called the pineapple express.

You don't notice it so much because its often stormy and windy when it happens.
