I grew up close to that bridge on Dewey Beach.  I was living in Bellingham at that time and didn't remember this case

NCIS was involved in this case.  Gibbs apparently got a confession from him.

That was it!  There were a lot of strange twists and turns to the case.  The Navy had divers in the water for a month, but didn't find anything at all.  Those waters are treacherous.  And so is the drop.

Down to 41, might get down to average tonight! 0.55” of rain, a blessing, but we need so much more.

Rip. Now what website will I spend all night updating? I jest a little, but this is an extremely serious situation and knowing the water level can help emergency managers better prepare for possible flooding. The reason the record for the Skagit River is just above 37' is because every time the river has gotten that high, a levee has blown out and released pressure on the system. Otherwise the record crest would be much higher. Currently the forecast is for 37.6' so hopefully something similar does not happen.

Wow I just let the dogs out and was surprised by just how windy it has gotten again, probably the strongest of the event! The dogs were not fans of that. Still no power of course but we are all nice and cozy.
Temp down to 41.
.69” on the day, 9.95” for the month.

Yep! Runs all of the vitals like the well and septic pumps, the on demand hot water system along with my water filtration system. Also the propane fireplace and blower. That becomes our only source of heat since our geothermal system does not run on the generator. It also runs the living and dining room lights, outside lights, the refrigerator and some of the outlets throughout the house. I have to run the extension cord from the directv panel upstairs down to an active plug downstairs. I also have to run a separate extension cord from the generator to the garage refrigerator and freezer. I have the setup down to a science at this point haha!

Bottom line is that its stormy and windy and his power is out... but Randy is snug as a bug in a rug.    And might be watching it snow later tonight.  😀

To do an impression of me, one would need to complain about Thursday/Friday’s rain inevitably migrating north. The 12z ICON and 18Z NAM were great for Portland. The next runs more closely resemble the GFS, Euro, and GEM. When it’s all said and done, it will be another bust like today.

I don't think most people would consider missing the disaster up north today a "bust".   It was a blessing.  👍

I’m talking about the .19” of rain that was dwindled down from 1” to .50” to what we ended up with. We were never going to take a direct hit from the AR.

We really need the weather to slow down and dry up. We basically would benefit from the Pacific Jet taking a nap. I would be okay with some general rain and mountain snows, but none of this atmospheric river junk unless it is focused Salem southward? Maybe. This has been a very crazy and active Fall. Of course we will still root heavily for Cold and SNOW! C'MON!!!!

Think Cold and SNOW! C'MON!!!!

The 00z ICON shifts the rainfall to the south, but at the expense of neutering it altogether. The 00z GFS puts PDX back in the bullseye. With such a narrow swath of healthy QPF, I have zero confidence in the ultimate outcome. Actually, I have confidence that somewhere north of the Columbia River will be the target or it will fizzle out.

If you love rain... and its raining... does it matter to you if PDX gets .35 or .50?    Honestly wondering.
