If you want, you can borrow my Gameboy to pass the time while the power is out. It is just the original non color one, but I have Tetris. I only have 2 batteries left though.

I still have mine somewhere! I think it’s in the same box as my VHS snowstorm coverage from 1996!

If we're in a simulation then it technically would be possible for Tim to effect the weather.  Let that sink in!

Lol if Tim could control the weather it would rain only at night once a week in north bend. Just to keep his garden happy.

I can remember exactly Tim's very first comment to me.  I posted a picture of tree's I sprayed with water and they made a beautiful frozen ice sculpture.  He said word for word, you'd have to be clinically insane to do that to a tree. Hahaha he didn't know I was going to cut them down in the spring.

I remember that pic.

I love those old vids. Gameboy nostalgia fits in perfect with that. I actually recorded on VHS a newscast from the 96 event as well, but deleted it. I was living in the western side of Beaverton and it was so cold and windy that almost all my snow just blew away. Other areas of the Portland metro killed it.

Track that sucker down. I would love to see it. I know central Oregon Mat has posted a few of those pics and they look spectacular, if not a little dangerous to pull off.

I did it a bunch when I was a kid. It has to be in the mid 20's or colder for a good outcome.  Next time it gets in the teens I want to fire up my pressure washer and shoot it in the air.

I can't remember the exact process, but with a pressure washer and something else you can produce actual snow when it's below freezing.

If current trends continue Thursday night might be fun. Temps should drop into mid 30's pretty quick.

We'll have to see if that low can spin enough moisture up this far.  I look at this stuff as just being an appetizer at this point anyway.  I do like the ECMWF showing every low for the next 10 days being below 40 though.

I want it to rain every single day. Or, at least be dreary and ‘’wet’’.

My ideal climate would be: 300+ days of rain. Maybe 100’’ - 150’’ total evenly spread out through the year. The temp would never exceed 65 or get below 20. Very few sunny days. Lots of fog and low clouds when not raining. Some wet, sticky snow here and there would be great. Moss, ferns, and massive conifers all over. Every square inch covered in green. Grass never dies.

This sounds like my paradise.  Some want to go to Hawaii... I want to go where THIS is. Beautiful stuff @Joshua Lake Oswego!  I guess we can only dream.

I just can't imagine not wanting to ever have an Arctic outbreak or any kind of continental influence.

My dream climate has honestly gotta be Boulder, Colorado. So much to love about the weather there imo. The roar of the chinooks, snow in winter, summer thunderstorms, spring blizzards, etc.

I've been trying to save battery. I flipped the main breaker on Monday morning when it looked like I was going to get water in the house. Power was cut to town around that time anyway. No idea when we'll get it back. I've got nowhere dry to put the generator in the meantime.

Water a step-and-a-half from entering the house (it's in the garage), but hasn't risen for several hours now. I think i got lucky. From what I can tell, my neighborhood is probably the only one that was spared to this extent. Areas that were billed as "out of the floodplain" have water in them. Houses that have never even had floodwaters touch their yards....ever....have water in them and had to be evacuated. This is just absurd. I was finally able to see a picture of the business we own in town. It was dry in the largest flood of my lifetime in 1990, which was considered a 35-year-flood. There was violent, raging water easily 2 feet up the walls in the photo I saw, and I was told it got much worse later. By that standard, this is a what, 50-year flood? 100? My guess is the central business district is annihilated. I dont know what else to add.

I heard the flooding in the town of Merritt, 7000 people evacuated, was so extreme that it likely exceeded a 200 year flood projection.

Surprised how forested northern Arizona is. There are more trees around Flagstaff than I've seen through a lot of my trek so far.

68 yesterday and low of 30 this morning at FLG.

C-zone is still very active between Mt. Vernon and Everett right where the ECMWF showed it would be this morning.   So it can still pinpoint the c-zone location... but apparently does not do so well with precip type now.   Unless its snowing at Randy's house right now.

Skagit River appears to still be climbing with a current height of just below 37' which puts this crest 4th all time currently. It's a little confusing because the NWS Advanced Hydrological Prediction Services site has crashed and keeps repeating erroneous data. USGS site shows 36.93' so I guess we'll go with that. Currently it appears as if all the levees are holding, but probably still 12+ hours to go at this high level.
