Not enough!!!! 😀

You’re starting to sound like the equivalent of joshua in the snow department!
As long as we get atleast 1” of snow that lasts for a day or two I’m happy here but I’m always game for much much more.

Wasn’t the south sound ground zero during February 2021? Olympia especially got hammered but I know east of Tacoma it wasn’t as good.  We’ve done really well here overall minus January 2020 which was Seattle north.

Clark county was pummeled. I don’t remember exactly how much I had but it was more than a foot. 15” is the number that’s sticking out to me

No parts of downtown Puyallup only got 5 inches because of the East wind last February

15.5” here that time. Seemed like I was on the northern edge of the best of it that time.

Yeah the east wind was a unfortunate part of the February storm. We got pretty lucky being right on the edge of the boundary.

I've also noticed this particular area is too far south for the PSCZ, too far north to not be blocked from cold onshore flow (thanks Olympics), also blocked in NW flow (again, thanks Olympics), and not close enough to Puget Sound to get the cell enhancements that can occur quickly over that but die after making it a few miles inland.

It really hasn't been the best place for snow since I've moved here. But I'm hopeful this winter will make up for it and if it doesn't, well, we won't be here for much longer anyway.

You’ll hate the snow in like 2 years probably you’ll get enough 😂. Yeah we have similar issues here in Tacoma with those darn Olympic mountains we’re really not the best spot either…when it comes to convergence zones too once or twice a year we get hit though with NW flow.

We haven't really had a big December snow since I have lived here. We had some decent snow in December 2015 and 16... In 10 years that's been about it.

Having lived near both the Columbia River and the Fraser River, it's definitely ideal to live in a spot adjacent to the  outflow that doesn't actually see a lot of wind. That seepage still keeps you a few degrees colder than the milder areas, but doesn't cut into your totals the way it does in the windiest spots.  Especially in a strong outflow situation. The wind is usually a hindrance for snow accumulation with legit arctic fronts or with any major offshore lows that spawn deep cross-Cascade gradients.

Of course in a shallower outflow event it will hurt not having better access to the easterlies. Witnessed it on 2/9/2019 when Camas/Washougal had 6-7" and we barely scraped out an inch before the precip ran out.

Haven’t had more than 2” of snow in December since 2008…and nothing measurable since 2017 besides a trace of snow last December.

In my IPhone pic archive (2012 to present) I had small snow events for most years except for 2018 and 19. We also had a dusting in 2009 but I cannot recall 2010 or 11 for December.
We are due for a 2008 redux!

We're due. 08 might have been the last big Dec snow.

We had about a 4" event in early December 2016. Salem had 5" on 12/14/16, but we only got about half that up here. There was a warm layer along the foothills and we had to contend with hours of sleet while it was snowing in the valley. December 2015 and 2012 had some decent snow at times, but it was spread out over a few days and not one big event.

And the best part of December 2008 was the low of -3 that I recorded on the morning of 12/20 I believe. Incredible.

I don't recall the day but remember that morning. 1st and only time I've seen single digits in this area (pugets sound lowlands). What an epic stretch. I remember waking up Christmas morning at my parents place and having to get the generator running because it had snowed so heavily over night we lost power.
