Been busy moving my stuff up to Vancouver, so not much chance to check in on this forum. Is it currently in Winter Cancel mode, or in Best Winter since 1950 mode?

Depends who you ask. I’m leaning the former tho. Feels like a persistent pattern like summer now. Endless warmth.

Perhaps we're looking at winter delayed. You can't cancel winter. It happens every year regardless of the observed conditions.

Wait you guys had precip forecast?

It was always kinda tenuous but the models had depicted some frontogenesis over Portland/Vancouver for the whole morning today as the baroclinic zone moved south. Showed well over an inch. Wound up being a quarter inch or less and it was dry after 4am. I blame Joshua.

And the blazers suck. :(

So far we haven’t gotten any certifiable Arctic blast in the models inside of day 9 or 10…really grasping at straws in this EPO infested fall/winter (it is still early).  Get it into the day 5-7 range then it is worthy of “cold is coming” meme.  Only inside of day 3-5 is it then worthy of the inevitable Hitler movie meme.

should be a fun ride with sick humor this winter

38 degrees in DC for the Seahawks game... its actually considerably colder there than if the game was being played in Seattle where its in the mid 50s.    What gives Phil?    ;)

Swamp season on its annual hiatus.

Actually 29 here. DC is a hotbox.

We’re looking at a major snowstorm for Whatcom County north still a little over 8 days out. Definitely been consistently showing up on the models. Gotta keep an eye on this

Going to need the ECMWF on board... 12Z was not there.   Maybe the 00Z run will pick it up.

Temps never get below freezing in Whatcom County during this event, except the mountains of course.

True. They would need heavy precipitation rates which they currently have
