The system coming in this evening is actually somewhat chilly. Should be a few inches of snow at the passes... Latest CFS runs are back to showing a very cold February/March combo.

Looking like Fairbanks will end up below normal in November. Interesting considering how epically they torched to start the month.

Glad you made it there safely.  That's a heck of a drive.  I made more or less the same trip coming west 1993-1994 from Athens Ga to Albany Oregon.  I've never been to that part of the country, look forward to seeing pictures of the area.

Just caught the tail end of the sunrise this morning. Hit 32.1F for a low before the clouds moved in so won't officially be a freeze in my records, but close enough.

Not a spectacular time lapse but definitely and edge. This camera points WNW.

You can also sort of see the lenticular cloud action although the wide angle does make it difficult.

Wowzers!  That cold over AK gets brutal before it gets dislodged.  Kind of like an early season late January 1989.  High chance we get snow if the evolution is anything like this run.

Not a spectacular time lapse but definitely and edge. This camera points WNW.

You can also sort of see the lenticular cloud action although the wide angle does make it difficult.

Very cool!  Is that your camera?  I might have to get one of those.

We will have some seriously cold air to work with assuming it's anywhere near reality.

That little follow up shortwave looks tasty to say the least.  Good chance of mixing a lot of moisture with resident cold air, and a new cold shot from the north.

As of now it looks like a pretty quick hitter and the continental stuff skirts off to the east after a couple days before an overrunning system plows through. Would give a quick burst of snow before the changeover.

There is some crazy cold over much of BC at the end of the run and the means to bring some of it south into WA.  Great run!
