That was supposed to fall here!  

If the ECMWF snowfall maps from yesterday were accurate... I would be digging out from 12-16 inches of snow right now.    The 18Z ECMWF still showed 3 inches falling between 4-10 p.m. this evening.     Currently 40 degrees and windy and dry and the radar shows precip fading.    Don't think its going to happen.

Not clear until June or July let's hope!  But it does look like a decent amount of melting later this week, especially off the trees and pavement.

I moved to an area around 600 feet near Enumclaw. Really excited to see how I do in marginal situations.

 

Moving to our current location really helped, we went from 300’ to nearly 600’ and it made a pretty big difference.

It was definitely up on the mountains around you though. I was up on Rattlesnake Mountain this evening. Snow level started around 2,000 ft and by 3,000 ft there was 8-12”+ of fresh snow.

Base on this, it was definitely terrain bleeding that the Euro was showing. Stunning pictures, I love these!

Yeah bit of a curveball with that deep secondary southern area of low pressure sweeping a bit closer to the coast. Hmmm.... NWS AFD earlier did mention there were some uncertainties regarding that potential.

That's not a hiccup we need for the real winter season, I don't think I have ever seen the Euro ever go that far off the rails in regards to showing lowland snow.

Yeah. It's definitely not good.. look like they may do some tweaking with the upgraded Euro.

The 0z GFS is on board with the mid month 150 block now.  Can't wait to see how that evolves over the next couple of days.

1962-63 was interesting. Spokane had an average high of 23.6 and an average low of 8.4 in January 1963.

Unfortunately most of that is warm and falls as rain at ski resort elevation (8000’+ snow levels). Still good to see.
