OR needs it.

We need way more in this part of the state. We are so far behind the rest it's scary.

Looks like most of the rain will be to the north of the Lane County border, with the occasional bit at the airport. But only about 0.5" in the SE valley, AKA Boregon.

The plot is seriously thickening on the possible cold snap coming up.  The 0z GFS is way colder than previous runs for next week.

Meanwhile it's been pretty windy here night.

They can have nearly all of it, and we would still be fine.

Yeah. I showed the current 2 weeks drought map yesterday for both states. We are more than fine up here. OR is gonna need a few more of these wet runs/systems.

The fun starts again Tuesday morning. More widespread.

East wind is peaking now... just ahead of the rain shield.

The wind tomorrow morning is onshore from the SW right up the Puget Sound after the main rain band.

It’s calm down substantially for my area. No more prolonged howling. So it may be on the verge of being done. Been kinda worried we might lose power for the evening.

I’m looking at WI in particular. Hope that finger is fine for someone! It’ll be D**n cold.

00Z ECMWF took away the snow for the game... temps in the low 30s with some flurries and breezy in Green Bay on Sunday afternoon on this run.

Rarity at this time of year.

Commonplace come January, though. 😬😂

Watching the radar a bit closely right now for next hour because it’s going to determine if SEA stays completely dry today. With the roaring east wind, it’ll probably remain dry as some of this will get eaten up before reaches the ground, but gonna be close.

Too funny... I was just thinking the same thing.    SEA needs to hang on for one more hour.

Its 54 with a dewpoint of 29 at SEA now... probably take a little while for rain to reach the ground.

It’s starting to drizzle here and raining in Olympia. UW radar shows it should definitely be further north than that… but it’s also drizzling in Tacoma. A lot of these does get eaten up. The drizzling though is going to help saturate the air.

PSE outage map shows a large chunk of North Bend just went out at 10:51 p.m. but the power is still on here for now.     The North Bend web cam is still functioning and it looks like the area around Safeway is still on and we are connected to that area underground.

I'm kind of surprised at some of the places that are reporting windy conditions tonight.  Normally with east winds the area effected is pretty limited.  I've been getting some gusts to 30 here which is pretty routine for these things.

I'm out right now in Kirkland and it's ripping out of the ESE. Political signs and leaves blowing down the roads!

Its not an east wind caused by high pressure overhead which tends to be localized near the gaps.      Its a broad area of ESE wind ahead of an incoming trough and storm which is almost always more widespread.
