Eugene scored way more snow than PDX in that event. I should know, I was living in Portland.

Downtown Portland had 10" in that event and a lot of the metro was north of 6". PDX only had 3-4" because the blowing/drifting really kept accumulations down near the river. Insane wind there with that.

Agreed. I’m not looking forward to the Oregon freak outs Saturday evening through midday Sunday. Folks should remember it’s a N/S event.

That weak little low does come ashore just to the south on Monday morning. Dewey mentioned the frontogenesis potential with that, and if we synch it right there could be a decent little snow burst around there as the offshore flow gets going. 18z actually shows that at face value and we pick up a few inches.

Incredibly persistent. Many opportunities on the way. This may be a good time to mention the 12z CFS is absolutely FRIGID for January. 498 thickness to PDX at one point.

Still plenty of wobble room, but it’s certainly looking feasible that PDX’s first sub-30 degree day in almost five years could come six months to the day after they broke their all time record high by 9 degrees.
