i prefer Colorado lows 

Both are generally great systems to track, a bit to far south for your neck of the woods.  Last year's Super Bowl Blizzard was a great CO Low that hit both your region and ours quite well.  Looks like the blocking this year may be in place as odds are in favor with low solar and it being an El Nino year.

Both are fun and in the right pattern, my location usually gets a piece of the Colorado lows as well. I like the southern plains lows a little more because of the dynamics of the storms they often produce and when also in the right pattern they can move a little slower (sometimes a lot slower) and tend to produce more snowfall. Haven't had a good closed low through here in a couple of winters though.
