5.1" here, 1.1" over the last hour.

some decent returns upstream. Should be able to net 1-2" before all is said and done. I'm gonna go out and measure here in a sec.

It’s remarkable how Cedar Rapids always outperforms Johnson county. Even when all guidance said otherwise. I’m not even mad at all. It snowed all day here and it’s beautiful. We got all I need, but it honestly never fails. Congrats to those up in Linn County getting a surprisingly high total. Always fun to overperform expectations

I certainly did not expect a dry slot to lift up through Ottumwa this afternoon.  Models showed nothing but moderate to heavy snow through evening down there.

The radar appears to be now taking on more of a west to east orientation. The dry line appears to have stopped advancing about a county south of me. Based on TWCs future radar it will continue to snow until 10pm here. Another couple inches would be very likely if that’s the case. Could get to 6”.

It’s ripping so hard right now and it’s getting whipped sideways!  Low vis, Loving it… I don’t want it to end…such a beautiful scene out there right now.  Prob 1/4 mi vis ATM.  Maybe the lake is playing ball right now.

This last band was not as heavy as I expected, and it pushed through rather quickly.  The snow should taper off quite a bit after this band, with just pockets of light snow for an hour or two.

2” here which is way better than nothing. Seems like this might be a year where we struggle to get anything meaningful in my area. Hoping for something better, I will say this if we would have gotten what was being shown today it would have been difficult getting home. It was a struggle just with the minimal amount we got.

I'm in a WWA and expecting to get 3-6"+ by morning. Not too shabby. Roads are treacherous outside while temps are hovering in the 20s, so, everything is sticking. Also, I was just driving just now and gotta tell ya, it is not fun driving out there. Lots of slipping and sliding. Will go for a measurement tomorrow morning.

Began the afternoon at a balmy 73*.

At 5pm the front rolled in and we are at 20*

A drop of 53*!

So, now I'm curious as to opinions of what the Texas/So. Okla winter will be like.

Snow, ice, rain ??   Opinions?

This was a disappointing storm for Kansas City and even points north like St. Joe and Atchison-- places I thought could see 8 inches or so.. the storm really took a northerly track, and was something that was a little all over the place on the models. Should have payed more attention to the GEFS members really dropping their QPF's over the last couple of runs. Overall, it did sleet and snow, so not a total miss. Onto the next one...

This is amazing. I just measured 7.0" and now, a band of moderate snow with big flakes has formed over CR during the past hour. I was worried this morning that we may not get more than 3" but this storm has delivered big time around here.

Wow, 7" is quite a total.  I only managed to measure an average of 5.6" on my snow boards.  This new band will add a bit to the total.

I thought it might be a bit high when I first measured it, but there is a report of 6.5" in CR from about an hour ago so it sounds about right to me.

Edit: Measured again and got 6.7" in two measurements. I'll go with that, it's still snowing so I will likely finish with a bit over 7" for a total.

The new band that just moved through dumped another 0.6", so my total is now 6.2".  I am thrilled with that.

My gauge catch melted down to 0.31", which would be a 20:1 ratio.  However, it was windy.  The core sample melted down to much more.... 0.46", which makes it a 13.5:1 ratio.

Certainly a function of the long periods of pixie dust today.
