I'm not too familiar with the greater metropolitan Yelm area, but Bellingham runs into that a lot, the city itself is rainy and 40, but parts of the school district are 1,000-1,300 feet, or are on the north face of hills and don't get sun to melt the roads, so the roads are still really sh*tty.  It sucks for the majority of students but I guess they have to account for everyone.

The GFS shows a sharp temp drop with heavy precip rates between 6z and 9z for SW King County.  Can't wait to see how that plays out.

Well that's a big jump... this seems somewhat reasonable to me. I do admire TWC's confidence in putting out stuff like this vs. NWS who are... cautious.

I would like that as well but I think that might be a case of over-estimating the gap winds and some terrain bleeding.

The biggy for me is it shows 925s dropping below zero even for us.  Precip rates are going to go nuts.  This just might work.

We had a little mix during the day... but just a few stray flurries here now.    My son just came back from Safeway and said it wasn't doing anything down there and not icy.

South Auburn dropped 6 degrees in a half hour when the wind shifted from S to N.  I think my cold air dome is going to hold out.  Another high below 40 today.

Nature is putting on and awesome show around these parts. Just getting caught up and glad to see some fun weather dynamics playing out.  Mostly dry down here today but was blessed with quite the show of Orca, porpoise, Baleen whale and a sea lion thrashing salmon about!   All in Commencement Bay!  Photography credit to Jason Cook (Orca Network) who caught this moment! I grabbed a still shot from his video. So cool to see this locally

I had to double check my wind direction when I saw NE!   Good to see I’m in the battle…..at least for the moment

Same here. Winds now back out of the NE. Temp finally dropping again.
