12z Euro says no snow South of Snohomish County/Hood Canal tomorrow and nothing significant South of Whatcom. GFS says widespread 2-4" for all of Western WA. Good old fashioned model battle brewing.

My money is on an eastern Puget Sound Lowlands special.

It's called clown range for a reason.

The ensembles are kind of a bummer after this late week trough. I had hoped we would start seeing some improvement toward the end of the run by now, but not really.

agreed. seems like GEFS/GDPS were quick to get a glimpse of a potential retro situation and then have been consistently pushing it out/delaying it for a few days. I'm still hopeful since the EPS last night has started to show it, will be interested to see if 12z continues it.

I doubt Whatcom would get what's showing, but even the NWS says my area could get 18.  Most I have seen here is about 16.

My largest was back in December 2008. We had one storm drop 2-3 feet in the area. Athol, near Coeur d'Alene, picked up 40 inches. It was champagne powder, so it was easy to shovel. I really prefer snowfalls in the 4-6 inch range, but it's nice to experience a huge storm.

Exactly. Feels like a lost cause until February again. At least we had a fun end to December this time. The winter is still a solid A for this location you can't hope for much better than 10" of snow.

The rain is super depressing, especially falling on snow. Looking forward to some dry days.

My expectations for tomorrow is zero and I am fully expecting a wet deck. That way any snow will be a huge bonus and fantastic!

Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I love snow/cold AND sun/warmth!

I use the median because the mean is skewed by all the massive events. We actually have a median seasonal snowfall of 0" in any given winter.

That would be amazing to see.  But cleaning up after it is a lot of work.

I find it interesting that the NWS hasn't updated their area forecast discussion.  Usually it is out by 9am.  I imagine it is due to the complexity of what might be going on tomorrow into Thursday.  My daughter has decided not to go back to Bellingham quite yet which is a pretty good idea since her classes for this week are all on line.  On a different note it was a freaking ice rink at least on the side roads here.  We have a slight hill by our house and a school bus was stuck on it.  Ended up having to back down.  At least right now the ice shows no sign of melting.

I guess I never thought about the plus aspect of things but yeah. 10" is an extremely high-water mark as well as a bunch of sub-40F highs.

If you nerds haven't checked out what's happening in Hokaido, you should.

Some areas are buried under 8-12 FEET of snow, NOT drifts, accumulated snowfall.

I've been fascinated by the climate there for a while. I'd love to go to Sapporo in winter someday.
