Wouldn't be shocked if there ends up being some pretty significant flooding between Oly and PDX. Axis of heavy rain sets up there and doesn't leave for a while.

Interesting... learning new things tonight.

Still can't justify Picnic Point - North Lynnwood though... and exclude Lynnwood itself.   😀

Picnic Point is a cool place, but it is odd showing up on the map.

Nasty out there - a 36* rain with fog. I noticed the fog forming as I was working my way back from Factoria.

Could indicate cooler temperatures at the surface than aloft. If so, rain is basically “steaming” because it is warmer than the air.

It's called clown range for a reason.

Ah, that makes sense.

Freezing level is definitely going up. Even Cougar Mountain which is directly east at 1500 feet, is now rain (or possibly a mix now).

6 inches of snow on the highway in Brewster.

Wow, you're really moving!

You know it's raining pretty hard when you can hear it inside the house.

Laying in bed with the window open. Can hear the snow ripping around in the wind. Quite calming honestly

I did that when I was younger, unless it was absolutely frigid or the wind was blowing the snow towards my bedroom window. One night the wind shifted and the snow did come in a bit! lol

Blizzard

Yeah! That looks like a Midwest blizzard. The picture reminds me of the worst winter drive I ever did. In 2013, a couple friends and I traveled from Wisconsin to the Black Hills of SD and WY. It was March, so that is pretty much winter still for that area. One day we traveled up to Devil's Tower. It was snowing lightly, but nothing crazy. When we were leaving and headed back towards I-90 the snow really picked up and the wind. It was about a 50 mile trip back to where were staying in the hills, so I topped off the tank and we made our way back since conditions were going downhill quick. The next 30 miles was nothing, but near white out conditions with snow blowing sideways. It was open country, so there was nothing to stop the wind. The saving grace was that we ended up behind a snowplow. Was never more then three inches on the road, but it is a drive I will never forget.

Raging snow storm from the pass clear to Tonasket. I've done drive 100 times and have never experienced anything like this. Going to be a historic snow event east of cascades . 5 inches of snow on the highway the entire way.

Pretty epic stuff. It’s roaring down here now.  24*f.

Indescribable. Everything has over-performed this winter, and this is no exception. I was not expecting this. I’m use to these transition events underperforming and changing over way quicker. This just feels really old school. This transition event will probably rival the final event on 12/29/1996 up here in the northern half of Whatcom County. Still in the low 20s throughout the county. Mid-upper 20’s south county without the outflow winds.

How much snow has fallen would you say.

We come from the land of the ice and snow.

Really strange conditions this morning.    The warm air is coming northward but still has not reached my area and its absolutely pouring rain and 33 degrees.    It sounds like its warm outside which is what I assumed when I woke up and could hear the rain falling.   I can't remember ever seeing it rain this hard at this temperature.

The warm air and wind should arrive here in the next couple hours and this is going pretty much exactly like the ECMWF showed... but I thought it looked unusual on the maps and its pretty unusual in reality.     Also odd that the precip is sagging south while the warm air is roaring north.

I woke up and saw the passes were closed and my first thought was, I hope @MR.SNOWMIZER made it across okay! lol

48.9* this morning, and rain, rain, rain! We've had 1 inch of rain since midnight! All I can think of is how much snow it'd be....lol I am enjoying hearing the rain and wind though, a bit scared to see how flooded the driveway is. 😐
