I was wishing I was wearing shorts walking down at Center for Urban Horticulture (next to UW stadium). Also, do you guys think these photos are too oversaturated? Still working on my editing.

Edit: It seems like compression ruined the resolution on TWF. Oh well.

The top one almost looks like the dock is levitating above the water, but other than that pretty nice.

Yeah, it's a crew rowing dock so it's almost flush with the water to get on and off easily. That location is actually the crewhouse that holds the boat that won the 1936 Olympics in Berlin! The UW team practiced there, and then won while Hitler watched them beat his own team. Pretty special place.

The chances certainly look high that we will be going into a much drier regime after Wednesday or so.  A very different evolution than what we saw before the recent cold wave.

If interested in learning more about that I highly recommend The Boys in the Boat. A great book that is being made into a movie soon.

First 1/3 of January should end up colder than normal. Running -2.9 with an average temp of 38.3 now. The first half of the winter will end up below normal too obviously with December being -2.6 and the first half of January being below normal. Hopefully we can get some chilly or cold weather in late January…right now it’s looking like our negative departure will be wiped out.

Yeah... its crazy how slow the snow melts on days like today.   We had an endless run of days like this after the February 2019 snowmageddon and it took forever for it to melt.    But we lost about 18 inches of snow from Thursday afternoon through early Friday morning with the same temperature.   😀

Agreed, I really enjoyed that one! And being a Husky had nothing to do with it.

The author actually talks about the weather the team encountered quite a bit as well.

Was so nice today with wall to wall sunshine!  Great mood boost for most people.  Unlike the last few years, this winter so far seems to have a lot more clouds/rainy days.  Even SOME sun is nice to see every now and then.  My thoughts on a few rainy days in summer are the same.

Me thinks the models start looking interesting around the 25th. Lot of times it takes about 5 or 6 weeks to reset the pattern favorably and score again after a big event.

The interesting thing about the map that Front Ranger posted is I could tell you just from that the Seattle area got a lot of snow.  That anomaly signature is classic.  Seattle doesn't do as well when the anomaly gradient is more E to W or even NE to SW
