33.8 here. Guess I kinda missed this, wasn't watching short term forecasts much the past couple of days

Looks like a strong inversion has developed tonight.  It will be interesting to see how well we hold onto the low level cold during the day.  Could be a surprisingly cold couple of days coming up.

Or anyplace else in the rest of the country. Is Seattle really that much of a crucial grocery goods hub? I guess it might be. Western Washington is where most of the people are, so odds are it is where most of the warehouses are.

Did you ever run low on supplies in the Vancouver area?

42 in North Bend and 40 up here this morning... there is an east wind but its warm this time instead of cold.   There must be a downslope component.    I was expecting everything to be frozen solid this morning but the snow actually melted a little more overnight.     ECMWF shows we should reach the low 50s out this afternoon.

Somehow it appears we have another extended AR event coming up over the next 3 days for a good part of western WA and SW BC.    That sort of snuck up on us.    There could be more flooding with snow melt from the mountains this time.  The ECMWF shows temps well up into the 50s on Tuesday and close to 60 in parts of western WA on Wednesday.      Really do not need more rain.    This should also completely finish off the snow cover here.

It's not the 11 year cycle I'm talking.  It's the so called grand minimum and grand maximum cycle.  That is a much longer cycle, and we are currently in a place of very deep minimums and low maximums.  Combined the last two minima were the lowest in almost 200 years.  Going to be very interested to see how this current 11 year cycle plays out.

Meanwhile, mainstream science says: https://climate.nasa.gov/ask-nasa-climate/2953/there-is-no-impending-mini-ice-age/

It's called clown range for a reason.

Bouncing temps this morning... North Bend was at 42 at 5 a.m. then dropped to 35 when the skies cleared and now the east wind picked up again and it jumped up to 44 in a few minutes.

Michael Snyder has been talking about this for the last few days and I was wondering why nobody on here was talking about it. Could be that we are in denial over it haha! We could definitely use a break in the rainfall.

Had a low of 32. Currently 33 and mostly clear. A combo of frosty exposed grass and rock hard snow in my yard, my grass is not happy with the dog traffic on it. Would have been fine if we could have kept solid snow cover on it but the last few days ruined that. Oh well.

Woke up to 26.6* and a crawl space FULL of water! I am talking, the duct work is soggy, the insulation is soggy. All of it. Sump pump apparently failed to do it's job. :( This sucks.

Obviously you need to locate a spare pump for emergency use but as a temporary measure it might be possible to set up some garden hoses as siphons, assuming a sufficiently low spot exists for them to drain to.

It's called clown range for a reason.

Even if they knew the buoyancy of the ship and the temperature+salinity of the water (which will affect how much the ship sinks), remember that snow (especially wet snow) can accumulate on all sorts of things, like masts, etc. Not to mention sea spray that may freeze.

It’s not an easy calculation at all.

I’m so sorry this happened :(

I fear this very thing someday….hired Terrafirma $$$$  a long time ago to deal with all the water that dumps on my property and into the crawl space….used to be just plain nasty down there. I do have a backup pump attached to a battery that will buy me a little time in case of power failure or main pump going off line.    They also added and alarm so if both pumps fail I can run around with my hands in the air screaming!
Hope you get everything figured….not fun
