Yeah.  I had a feeling that was going to be an issue this winter, but didn't want to say much about it.  With analogs like 1970 an N to S gradient was pretty likely.  I do think there is a fair chance the next round will be more favorable for you though.  Just a hunch.

Didn't he still see like 10" of snow, though?

This might be wild in areas around North Bend. Peak winds are from the east with snow falling per the EURO. Cold, dry air coming through the gap and precip rates should be strong enough to benefit from evaporative cooling.image.thumb.png.9fe5f5c847e69ef9ec85f4b50c866291.pngimage.thumb.png.9d763d7762924b682d2e0cdb29c93bcc.pngimage.thumb.png.055dfc431727bf80d2ae4137e31534ac.png

Looks like I'm in the bullseye on Euro. 35+mph winds, below freezing. Might get some blizzard-like conditions if the front moves in at the right time. Easterlies here can be brutal.

Still only 30.2 here with a DP of 26. Kind of shocked really, figured I would have been above freezing by now.

The station 3 miles from home has been at freezing or below since Christmas night at 4pm, if my house matches this it's a record for me.

I went below freezing at noon on Christmas Day and still have not yet hit the freezing mark, I believe that is a record for me…Maybe 1990 went longer I can’t remember now.

NWS is issuing another WSW for us from midnight to 4pm Monday. We're supposed to have another inch or two tomorrow after a relatively quiet day or two but they are concerned about blowing snow. I'm so glad I was able to drive the thirty or so miles to Lewiston and stock up on food today since we were running low even after getting some essentials yetsterday at our small town grocer.

In my mind, it just makes more sense to build an underground shelter (house) in a climate like that. That photo above looks cool and all but trust me when I say that dealing with that amount of snow is far from fun. It's a massive pain in the rear end. I'd rather just leave and come back in summer and deal with whatever repairs are needed vs slave away removing snow.

I grew up in Graham. I remember when it snowed Xmas Eve 1996 and the snow stuck around for nearly two weeks. I was a kid riding my 3 wheeler up and down the street towing other kids behind it on a sled

So are you saying the Yankees spend too much money with unchecked spending, trying to buy a WS? that their almost $200,000,000 budget hasn't gotten them a WS since '09?  Can't stand them.  I'd love to see them get clipped.  There's a couple other teams in that group too.

Hard to compete if you're a small market.  Oakland just keeps selling high, buying low in the hopes of finding a Marlins-like combo of players.  Money Ball.  That's not working either right now either.

Go M's.  For once they have a great farm team and some money to spend.

I'm a huge Oakland A's fan and the owner is cheap. It was time to rebuild. MLB owners are at fault this time around. Thet are the hardliners not the players in this case.

Weather wise we are up to a balmy 12 degrees.

They've also ruined it with these silly 7-inning doubleheaders and the ridiculous ghost runner in extra innings now.

Who would have thought the Ducks would have a few good baseball teams? I still remember when they started their program. I mean they aren't exactly Oregon State with their recent titles, but considering all the rain that the WV gets, you'd think it would hamper their ability to get solid talent.

I am grateful we got one sunny cold day out of this. Today was beautiful with no melting. All good things must come to an end, and our snow will likely be gone by this time next week, but it was a really fun event. If we get something Monday night that's a great bonus, but either way this was nice, very memorable, made for an incredible Christmas and New Year's our family will always treasure.
