Still only 30.2 here with a DP of 26. Kind of shocked really, figured I would have been above freezing by now.

You're very lucky.  Places near you are losing the cold air.

The ECMWF shows snow Tuesday night also with 850s and 925s unquestionably cold enough for snow.

Well one thing is for sure, the ground (which should still be snow covered) and roads are going to still be very cold if we get snow on Monday it should have no problem Sticking immediately.

Really nothing but good news right now.  It looks increasingly likely we get another solid cold shot around the 8th, then go into a chilly inversion for short time, and then the GOA block rebuilds.  Good shot at a very special winter this time around.

I'm really not seeing why models are expecting dew points to be high enough for rain when precip rolls in early tomorrow AM (at least HRRR time). I'm sure they will in some areas, but man, I think we have the chances for a major upset here if things are even barely overdone. It's 35 here right now with 80% humidity. A lot of things need to change in the overnight hours. It's certainly possible, but I'm just not sure I'd go all in with these forecasts.

Am I missing something? Anyone else wanna offer an alternative argument?

Who would have thought the Ducks would have a few good baseball teams? I still remember when they started their program. I mean they aren't exactly Oregon State with their recent titles, but considering all the rain that the WV gets, you'd think it would hamper their ability to get solid talent.

I know it was a quick rise to the top.  My nephew is going to pitch at Oregon State.  He won the family genetic lottery, quickness, coordination, strength and he's 6-3.

King County cold tongue seems to be developing with an Arctic high in the Columbia Basin pushing a cold, east wind through the passes.

There's definitely a lot of radiational cooling going on as well, so it might also be that windier places aren't cooling down as quickly tonight.

29.8.

I was just looking a little bit closer at your situation there and it appear the Stillaguamish Valley could be a wild card for you to stay cold.  You will need something to stave off that SE wind and it might provide enough easterly outflow to shunt the wind away from you.  Maybe.

At any rate I don't think what happens tonight will make much difference to your chances for snow vs rain tomorrow night.  For tonight I think all anyone wants is to stay cold to keep the streak alive.

Current Wenatchee-Seattle gradient is +8 mb, and it's 10 degrees in Wenatchee.

There's a southerly component to the wind as well, with the Portland-Seattle +3 mb. However, cold air is pouring out of the Columbia Gorge as well, so that southerly component is coming from the same cold air mass at the moment.

The amount of moisture coming in with this system is considerable.  Eventually it will need something beyond evaporative cooling to make it work.  In the early going it could easily be snow in areas that don't have their cold air ravaged by SE winds.

I can certainly tell the Euro is running a bit too warm at the surface levels. 18z says we'll remain above freezing by 7pm but the area is already at freezing or below. BFI is 30 and SEA is 32. Its call for a high of 40 tomorrow seems suspicious.

The models are certainly advertising influence from the passes tomorrow night as well.  The ECMWF has moved toward the GFS on that.

Temp spike, up to 31.1 all of a sudden.

Same here which is doubly incredible since I live in an east wind area.  East wind has been a complete no show other than 10mph type stuff.

hit 30.7 on the Thursday and 31.6 here today. Some of the other stations in my neighborhood were briefly reading above 32 but I think mine is more accurate because it is not exposed to direct sunlight.

Just got home, amazed to see how much snow is left. 9 inches on the ground and 30.0 degrees! So since Christmas afternoon my high was 31.1 today so this is a record for this location for the most time sub freezing.  Also looks like bremerton made it 5 full days and that might be the longest streak since 1990 or even longer.
