Is the entire kitsap peninsula excluded?

A lot of it. HRRR suggests some extending down into Kitsap lowlands1641225600-8gMZCSzzCAA.png

For others on here keep a eye on the bremerton airport obs for falling temps. That will be a good indicator for other places switching over. I'm getting some benefits from the hood canal but the bremerton airport obs really doesn't.

No cooling here, not that I was expecting anything, was hopeful for a surprise though.  Temp has been 38 most of the day, and still is.

Something to watch.    The ECMWF shows all the freezing that will fall with this system here has already happened.

Looks like it will be Phil and Timmy_Supercell's show for the foreseeable future. At least Christmas to New Year's was seasonably cold for a change.

I am getting 10-12 inches tonight and another big dumping later this week.  But that is normal for here.  Hoping for more chances for Western WA and OR later this month.

Everett has gotten 0.44” in the last 3 hours so there’s definitely been plenty of moisture around.

Ironically... it only showed .07 at KPAE for the same time period.

Your area can never be underestimated.  I have a feeling you will score again with the cold showers behind the front. Pulling for you as always.

It's hard to tell how long the heavy precip will last. Looking at the radar maybe 2 or 3 hrs max.

Not sure about that... front appears to be slowing down or maybe even stalling.

It was a very very hard choice to leave cabin. When I looked at models the system tonight didn't look all that impressive for the cabin area but now it does. 8-12 inch prediction for there is stout. Honestly we might head back up Wed,  looks like Thursday will be another good one there. Not sold yet o. A big overrunning event here Thursday morning.

32.4 this might be a doozy here tonight.

Not sure why you think there’s only 2-3 hours of heavy precip left there. Radar shows a hell of a moisture plume pointed at us extending way off the Coast.

Not sure what is going on with the ECMWF... but it showed a total of .54 in precip at SEA between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. and there has only been .02 so far.

We've had 0.39 in N. Seattle. Could it be a rain gauge issue at SEA?

Edit: Looks like they just haven't had much rain today period. The precipitation has been going north today.

When I looked at the satellite last it kinda looked like it was just a progressive front but now it looks to be stalling some .

Snow left from the last week is turning into a slushy, melted mess here in Redmond... down to 34 here. I have a hockey game at 8, so it'll be 10:30 or so before we're done with the game and post-game parking lot beers... I'm worried that the melt-refreeze effect is gonna make my drive home a white-knuckle drive tonight.

The only answer is we need lots of snow to cover up the ice and give some traction? 😂

There shouldn’t be a refreeze tonight. If it snows it will be very wet slushy snow and not ice.
